The WITS Programs Foundation office will be closed on Wednesday to allow staff to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (aka Orange Shirt Day) and we encourage everyone to take part in some way! Attend local ceremonies and events going on across across Canada; wear your “Every Child Matters” shirt; make a donation to support the community; take time to time to learn about the impacts of the residential school system and find ways to move towards reconciliation.

Something NEW is taking shape at the WITS Foundation!! We are inviting schools from across Canada to join a fully supported pilot program that empowers young people to lead positive change in their communities! 🙂

📣 Introducing: WAIS to Belong & SOIS le Lien

In this program older students (ages 11 to 15) will be mentoring younger students (ages 7 to 11) through empowering creative projects, and hands-on experiences that build empathy, leadership, and a genuine sense of inclusion & belonging.

This pilot program is designed to be simple to implement and there is NO COST to your school to participate! We provide the training, the materials, and the ongoing support while your educators guide the process... and watch as your students learn & thrive!

WAIS to Belong is Canada's newest youth-led inclusion program, and 40+ schools are already in for the 2026-2027 national pilot. Older students mentor younger ones, then both groups create projects that change school culture for good.
