Introducing James! 

James is a kindhearted guy who really values staying healthy. James has been a part of our program for over 24 years! Talk about loyalty! 👏

He’s also been with Save-On-Foods for 26 years, so you could say he’s truly been stocking up on loyalty! 🛒😉

Outside of work, James is passionate about creating YouTube content and video games. 🎮 If you’re a gamer, you might even have come across one of the games he’s created!

Thanks a bunch to Sasha Kubicek for hosting Evan’s work experience! 

Evan’s farming skills truly blossomed during his time on the farm, and we’re so grateful to Sasha and Robin for helping him turnip with confidence and grow his skills every step of the way. Their commitment to inclusive employment is the root of something really special, and that’s something we’ll cherry-ish forever.

Fun fact: Sea Bluff Farm is Certified Organic! If you’re in the area, lettuce recommend stopping by their farm stand in Metchosin on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 6pm. Their produce can’t be beet; it’s berry delicious!

Congratulations to our Car Wash Team!
This past week, the Car Wash Team was recognized for their dedication, commitment, and excellence with a Challenge Coin from Chief Dean Duthie.
Community Living Victoria first established the Car Wash with the Saanich Police Department over one and a half decades ago. Since then, each year a new team of car washers has collaborated to provide a valuable service to the department while developing workplace skills, confidence, experience and connection.
This recognition reflects not only the team’s hard work, but also the incredible partnership between Community Living Victoria and the Saanich Police ! We are so proud of the many teams of car washers and grateful to the Saanich Police Department for their continued commitment to inclusive employment opportunities.
Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved honour and another year of squeaky clean cruisers!

Employment service agencies play an important role in supporting job seekers who face barriers to employment. By connecting individuals with opportunities, advocating for inclusive workplaces, and educating employers about the value of inclusive hiring, we help create a workforce where accessibility and accommodation are built in, not fought for.

Meet Kate (she/her)!

Kate supports job seekers and employers by bridging the gap between individual strengths and organizational goals. With a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Business, she brings a unique dual perspective to her role, understanding the mindset of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism while recognizing the strategic needs of employers. Her goal goes beyond filling roles. She is passionate about helping people build meaningful, long-term careers.

Whether supporting individuals in skill development, exploring employment opportunities, or helping businesses refine their talent search, Kate uses thoughtful strategies grounded in psychological insight. She also contributes to CLV’s social media team, helping bring our community and values to life. Outside of work, Kate enjoys exploring the outdoors and creative hobbies, bringing the same curiosity and positivity to everything she does.

Chelsey brings warmth and a person-centred approach to CLV’s Employment Services team, supporting individuals to build skills and pursue meaningful employment.

Her journey from working in a care home to community support roles and now Employment Counsellor reflects her strong work ethic for service. Chelsey values connection, adventure, and inclusive communities and brings that same energy to the people she supports every day.

Sophia supports individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in building confidence, developing skills, and reaching their employment goals with curiosity, compassion, and heart. She is also the creative mind behind our social media visuals, bringing CLV Employment Services’ community and values to life.

Finishing her Honours degree in Biology and Psychology at UVic, she is passionate about helping people discover their strengths, and her positivity makes her such a valued member of our team!

With her dedication and leadership, she helps open doors to success for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
