Join the North Okanagan Rural Response partners for a special International Overdose Awareness Day Mobile Roadshow, featuring three community open-house events across the North Okanagan in one day.

This free event is an opportunity to learn lifesaving skills, connect with local resources, and have open, judgment-free conversations about substance use and recovery. Whether you're supporting a loved one, looking for information, or simply wanting to learn more, everyone is welcome.

What to Expect:
❤️Learn how to administer Naloxone and receive a free kit to take home
❤️Connect with substance use experts and participate in an informal Q&A
❤️Learn how to support someone who is using substances
❤️Find out how to access supports and services in your community
❤️Learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose
❤️Help reduce stigma through education, awareness, and conversation
❤️Connect with local treatment, recovery, and harm-reduction resources

Kn Sqilxw Sx̌lx̌ʕalt – Indigenous Peoples' Day

Today, on Kn Sqilxw Sx̌lx̌ʕalt (Indigenous Peoples' Day), we celebrate the strength, resilience, and living culture of the syilx people and Indigenous Peoples across these lands.

This day is an opportunity to honour our Elders, Knowledge Keepers, language speakers, youth, and all those who continue to carry our teachings forward. We recognize the generations who came before us, the responsibilities we hold today, and the future we are building for those yet to come.

Kn Sqilxw Sx̌lx̌ʕalt is also a reminder that Indigenous cultures are not only part of our history. They are living, evolving, and thriving today. We are proud of the contributions our people make every day to our families, community, and Nation.

As we mark this day, we encourage everyone to take time to learn, listen, celebrate, and reflect on the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.
