Many thanks to Marisol Letourneau, not only for taking on the 'vest of power' as the run director this week for Event #21, but also for taking these wonderful pictures.

46 runners and walkers braved and welcomed the rain on Saturday for our 21st Okanagan Rail Trail parkrun. The rain started at 8am on the dot, and by the time parkrunners were crossing the finish line, they (and the volunteers) were soaking wet with smiles on their faces!

We welcomed one first-timer and a few tourists, one from Ottawa and the rest from England.

We also had a keen parkrunner, who finished quickly and was was jetting off to Kelowna to join their 9am run. What a commitment!

A big thank you to our volunteers! It was great to see some regular parkrunners helping us out as volunteers. We couldn't do it without our volunteers!

Happy parkrunday!

Summer in the Okanagan often means air quality concerns, but I am happy to report that we are well within limits this morning!

The 6 a.m. report has us at Level 2, with a forecast of Level 4 by 8 a.m.

Please adjust your effort accordingly this morning, and stay safe!

We did it! We set a new national participation record today! Thank you to the over 5,400 people who joined us to celebrate 10 years of parkrun in Canada! Okanagan Rail Trail parkrun Event #20 coincided with the 10th Anniversary celebration of parkrun in Canada. It was a warm and dry morning along Kalamalka Lake, but overcast for the most part with the sun beginning to peek through the clouds towards the end. It was also our very first tutu parkrun (falling on the 22nd of the month), with THREE enthusiastic participants sporting their very best tutus!

We had 56 finishers this morning, featuring FOUR parkrun first timers and NINE parkrun tourists, including visitors from the UK and from Langley. ELEVEN parkrunners achieved personal bests, and though he didn't realize it, one of our UK visitors - Michael FROGGATT of Chipping Sodbury parkrun (near Bristol) - was our 1,000th finisher since we began April 11th!
