Parking rules can create confusion in strata communities, especially when wording is unclear or enforcement becomes difficult.

In the Spring/Summer 2026 edition of Strata Connection, James Davidson, Davidson Houle Allen LLP looks at a condo case involving parking rules and why clarity matters when it comes to bylaws, governance, and compliance.

His article, Condo Cases Across Canada: Corporation’s Parking Rule Was Ambiguous and Therefore Not Enforceable, highlights an important reminder for strata councils and managers: clear rules are easier to understand, easier to follow, and easier to enforce.
