Slovenian Society Vancouver is a non-profit organisation established in 1958. Its main mission is to unite Slovenians who live in Vancouver and Lower Mainland to preserve Slovenian tradition, language, singing, dancing, instruments and culinary art.

Saturday, October 24 – Slovenian Society’s 68th Anniversary Celebration:

Join us for this special occasion as we celebrate our Society’s 68th Anniversary – the date itself falls on October 24. The afternoon will feature a meal-style lunch, a concert with singing and music, followed by dancing and anniversary cake for all guests. Doors open at 12:00 pm; lunch served at 1:00 pm.

Tickets include entrance and meal.

We are honoured to welcome Choir Motiv and Ansambel Trio Karošec, a 27-member group accompanied by family and friends – a total of 46 visitors from Slovenia. This is a rare and meaningful visit, and we hope for a strong turnout so that our members can mix, mingle, and extend a warm welcome to our visiting guests and enjoy a memorable afternoon together.

Help Us Explore Slovenian Language Learning Opportunities:

The Cultural Committee of the Slovenian Society is interested in learning more about our community's interest in Slovenian language learning.

Whether you speak Slovenian fluently, know a few words, are hoping to reconnect with your heritage, or would like to learn from the beginning, we would appreciate your input.

Your feedback will help us understand the needs and interests of our community as we consider whether to facilitate language learning opportunities and activities.

The survey takes less than two minutes to complete, and all responses are greatly appreciated. Please complete the survey by October 31.

For anyone interested in art and science – or simply curious - you are invited to attend a SciArt event hosted by VTIS* on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Multimodal Media Lab (MML), 375 Water Street, Room 645, Vancouver, BC.

This will be the first VTIS gathering in Vancouver, offering an intimate introduction to SCI_ART. Join VTIS for an evening connecting Slovenians and friends of Slovenia through art, science and photography.

Join the Slovenian Society’s hiking group for a summer hike and picnic on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Mundy Park in Coquitlam!

⏰️Meeting Point & Time:

8:30 am: Meet in the parking lot near the Mundy Park Tot Lot

9:00 am: The hike begins along an easy 4 km trail around the park.

11:00 am: Approximate time for the picnic.

All who wish to attend are welcome to join either the hike, the picnic, or both.

Please bring your own food and drinks.
A folding chair or blanket is recommended in case the picnic tables are full.

📍Location: Mundy Park, 641 Hillcrest Street, Coquitlam

🚗 Parking is available off Hillcrest Street. View maps for reference.

🌧 Weather: If the weather is poor, the hike and picnic will not take place.
