Slovenian Society Vancouver is a non-profit organisation established in 1958. Its main mission is to unite Slovenians who live in Vancouver and Lower Mainland to preserve Slovenian tradition, language, singing, dancing, instruments and culinary art.

See you Sunday August 9th!

Join the Slovenian Society’s hiking group for a summer hike and picnic on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Mundy Park in Coquitlam!

⏰️Meeting Point & Time:

8:30 am: Meet in the parking lot near the Mundy Park Tot Lot

9:00 am: The hike begins along an easy 4 km trail around the park.

11:00 am: Approximate time for the picnic.

All who wish to attend are welcome to join either the hike, the picnic, or both.

Please bring your own food and drinks.
A folding chair or blanket is recommended in case the picnic tables are full.

📍Location: Mundy Park, 641 Hillcrest Street, Coquitlam

🚗 Parking is available off Hillcrest Street. View maps for reference.

🌧 Weather: If the weather is poor, the hike and picnic will not take place.

Due to the weather forecast calling for rain, the hike and picnic planned for this Sunday, July 26, 2026, is cancelled.

The event is rescheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Mundy Park in Coquitlam. The updated original message with details is included below for reference. Please pass this notice along to any members or friends who do not use email. We look forward to seeing those who can join us on August 9.

📣 Event Alert: Slovenija’s 35th Anniversary and Summer BBQ | Saturday, June 20, 2026 |Doors open at 12:30 pm | Lunch is 1 pm

Join us for an afternoon of good food, music, and celebration!

✨️ The program includes lunch, a concert and dancing, with a commemorative cake marking Slovenia’s 35th Statehood Day 🇸🇮.

🎵 We are delighted to welcome Ansambel Žibert, visiting from Slovenia, who will provide live music.
