Slovenian Society Vancouver is a non-profit organisation established in 1958. Its main mission is to unite Slovenians who live in Vancouver and Lower Mainland to preserve Slovenian tradition, language, singing, dancing, instruments and culinary art.

📣 Event Alert: Slovenija’s 35th Anniversary and Summer BBQ | Saturday, June 20, 2026 |Doors open at 12:30 pm | Lunch is 1 pm

Join us for an afternoon of good food, music, and celebration!

✨️ The program includes lunch, a concert and dancing, with a commemorative cake marking Slovenia’s 35th Statehood Day 🇸🇮.

🎵 We are delighted to welcome Ansambel Žibert, visiting from Slovenia, who will provide live music.

May 20, 2026: Honorary Consul Margaret Rudolf representing Slovenia in Victoria alongside the Lt. Governor, Premier, Cabinet Ministers, and fellow EU Ambassadors and Consuls.

May 23, 2026: Ambassador Andrej Medica extends his visit in Victoria, and the Slovenian Society committee welcomes His Excellency with an informal reception at the Slovenian Hall.

European Festival - Eurofest BC Society | Saturday, May 30, 2026 | 10 am to 7:30 pm
The family-friendly European Festival returns to the Slovenian Hall with participating European countries, performers, food trucks and vendors. Members of our Slovenian community will be sharing the spirit of Slovenia throughout the day. Visit us at the cultural booth under the big tent, enjoy the folklore dancers at their indoor performance from 10:45 am to 11:15 am, cheer on the Flag Parade from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm, and catch our accordionist outdoors around 3:45 pm. You will also see many of our volunteers helping around the grounds. Admission is free. To support our neighbours and reduce congestion, we encourage car-pooling and transit.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performed in Ljubljana on April 13 at Cankarjev Dom. Our honorary consul, Margaret Rudolf, together with her counterpart in Slovenia, the honorary consul for Canada, Aleša Mižigoj, received the orchestra and organized a lovely reception for the musicians and invited guests. You might recognize our own Theresa Plut, who was an honoured invitee. The orchestra received several standing ovations, reflecting the strong enthusiasm for continued cultural connections.
