JUST ANNOUNCED

The National Ballet of Canada has announced that Vancouver’s own Heather Ogden will retire from the National Ballet of Canada at the close of the company’s 2026/27 season — bringing to an end one of the most celebrated careers in Canadian ballet history.

Ballet Vancouver is deeply honoured that audiences will have the opportunity to witness Heather perform as a Principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada one final time during its debut 2026/27 season in Balanchine’s Apollo & Other Works, September 11 + 12, at the Vancouver Playhouse — a truly special and historic homecoming.

And while this marks the close of one extraordinary chapter, Heather’s relationship with Ballet Vancouver is only just beginning. We are thrilled to confirm that Heather will continue to grace our stage as a guest artist in future seasons, and we look forward to celebrating many more chapters of her remarkable career with Vancouver audiences for years to come.
