Back to school = busy schedules. But volunteering doesn’t have to mean adding another overwhelming commitment to your calendar.
If you’re a university or college student looking for a meaningful way to spend a few hours each week, KidStart could be a great fit. 🧡💙
As a KidStart mentor, you can:
✨ Volunteer flexibly - outings are typically 2–3 hours once a week, making it easier to work around classes, studying, work and your social life.
📚 Build practical skills - we offer training throughout the year, including First Aid (covered by KidStart), privacy & confidentiality, boundaries, case notes and more.
💼 Gain real-world experience - develop communication, leadership and relationship-building skills while getting a feel for working with youth.
🤝 Build your network - connect with other volunteers and professionals, and gain experience that can help you in your future career.
📍 Volunteer close to home - we consider location, availability and shared interests when matching mentors and youth, so you don’t have to spend hours driving to volunteer.
And most importantly, you get the opportunity to be a consistent, positive presence in a young person’s life. 🧡💙
Your university schedule may change every semester, but a few hours a week can make a lasting difference.
