The chapter officers of the IIEE Canada Chapter were proud to attend the recently concluded P6 2026 Summit: Beyond Potential held last Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Fairleigh Dickinson University (Vancouver Campus). The summit brought together Filipino engineers, architects, nurses, tradesmen, and construction professionals for a full day of insightful sessions, interactive networking, and actionable career strategies tailored to the real Filipino-Canadian journey.

Our chapter remains committed to supporting our members, helping foreign-trained electrical practitioners navigate professional licensing, and fostering collaboration across the built environment community.

The IIEE Canada Chapter successfully concluded its 5th Technical Webinar on September 12, 2026, conducted virtually via Zoom. The event provided participants with valuable technical and professional insights from distinguished electrical engineering practitioners and leaders from Canada and abroad.

The technical sessions featured Engr. Mario M. Solang, P*E, PMP, ACPE, ASEAN Eng., who discussed Advanced Metering Infrastructure, and Engr. Alain B. Arostique, REE, MSc, PMP, CIPM, PROSCI, LSSBB, who presented The Engineer as Project Manager: Turning Technical Expertise into Project Leadership.

The webinar was further enriched by inspirational messages from Engr. Adrian L. Rey, P*E, MBA, M.Eng.EE, MSci.RES, ACPE, ACEM, ASEAN Engr. (2026 IIEE National Vice President for Internal Affairs) , and Engr. Gamajel T. The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) – Canada Chapter (PRC Accreditation No. I-APO-16, Charter No. 107) successfully conducted its 4th Technical Webinar, centered on the 2026 organizational theme: “IIEE BRIGHTER 2026: Empowering the Future, Illuminating Excellence, Leading with Humility.” Hosted virtually, the event gathered electrical professionals and practitioners to foster technical growth and international collaboration across the discipline.

Specialized Technical Presentations:
The core of the webinar consisted of two 1.5-hour technical sessions delivered by subject matter experts:

Industrial Control System (ICS) Cybersecurity for Energy Sector: Presented by Dr. Policarpio Tena II (D.Tech., M.Eng., EIT, ISP, ITCP, SMIEEE) from Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Dr. Tena provided critical insights into safeguarding power grid automation, operational networks, and energy infrastructure against evolving cyber vulnerabilities and threat vectors.

Fundamentals of Induction Motor and Variable Frequency Drives: Delivered by Jose M. Torrecampo (P.Eng, Fellow Engineers Canada) from British Columbia, Canada.

IIEE Canada Chapter Successfully Conducts Professional Mobility and International Recognition Webinar🇨🇦🇵🇭

The IIEE Canada Chapter successfully conducted its technical webinar entitled “Professional Mobility and International Recognition: ACPE, ASEAN Engineer, APEC Engineer, and IntPE Registration” on June 26, 2026 (BC Time) via Zoom. The event was a resounding success, bringing together participants/ aspirants from various IIEE chapters in the Philippines and overseas, demonstrating the strong commitment of Filipino electrical practitioners toward professional growth and international recognition.

The webinar provided valuable insights into the pathways for obtaining prestigious international engineering credentials, including ACPE, ASEAN Engineer, APEC Engineer, and IntPE Registration. Participants also gained a deeper understanding of the Engineering Practice Report (EPR), Engineering Activity Report (EAR), competency matrix, application requirements, and the role of the Electrical Engineering Register Committee (EERC) in supporting engineers seeking international mobility.
