There is a sacred fire happening at Burrardview Park in Vancouver on July 14th, 2026 that will be open for all to attend.
This is from sunrise to sunset.
The purpose of this fire is to create opportunities for everyone to come together through sharing and teaching of Indigenous culture and protocol.
'What makes this a Sacred Fire?'
Any sacred fire is sacred because it is used as an Indigenous
traditional wellness approach. The protocols surrounding sacred fires are also an important part of Indigenous spirituality; a form of communication with the spirit realm and our ancestors. It is a sacred practice meant to help everyone in attendance to feel more open, grounded, and connected with others and those who have moved on..
All sacred fires are built by Indigenous people who are gathering for an event, ritual, or ceremony. The firekeeper builds, maintains, and keeps watch over the fire so that it is
never left unattended.
