Please see our August Rescue Roundup! 🐾

From fresh arrivals to sweet adoption wins, August was full of happy tails and fresh starts! Here’s a peek at our newest AKR alumni and current foster pups settling into their new lives:

✈️ Aug 23 (LAX) – Beomi landed in Los Angeles and moved in with his foster, Karen Chi! She reports he is an absolute sweetie who’s already best friends with her resident dog. He’s currently searching for his forever crew!

✈️ Aug 25 (YVR) – Camus was welcomed by foster Nasia Mak, but he didn’t stay on the market for long! Within just one week, Camus was adopted and is officially soaking up the good life in Canada! 🇨🇦

✈️ Aug 26 (YVR) – Odi is proving to be a true gentleman while staying with his foster family of Roxanne Coelho. He’s already playing big brother and looking out for his foster furry sister, Bona, on their daily walks! And we have great news, son Odi will fly to Toronto where his forever family is excited to call Odi their own!

✈️ Aug 28 (YVR) – The Big Arrival! Five wonderful pups touched down and are thriving in their new homes: • Rory moved to Calgary and is finding her brave voice! • Tutu is the ultimate gaming buddy, curling up for lap time while her human plays video games 🎮 • Marvin, now Salgu, which means apricot in Korean, made the trip to St. John’s and is busy making friends with his cat sibling 🐱 • EJ is embracing her playful side with her human brothers • Joy is already asking for all the pets and kisses!

✈️ Aug 31 (YVR) – Pudding wrapped up the month by flying into Vancouver to meet his foster family that is also considering his adoption. He’s adjusting wonderfully alongside two human siblings and a resident cat!

Congratulations to all our wonderful dogs and their forever families! A massive THANK YOU to our incredible fosters, drivers, and AKR volunteers who made these journeys possible. ❤️

🐾 AKR ARRIVALS & HAPPY UPDATES — AUGUST 26–30 🐾

Another week of new beginnings, new families, and little steps toward forever. 💕🏡🐶

🌸 Aug 26 — Dongi & Seoi | Sisters

These sweet sisters are starting their new journeys! 💕

Seoi has been adopted and is doing very well. Her family has been taking things slowly, separating her from their 11-year-old dog at first and gradually introducing them while working on training. Seoi is very friendly and affectionate — she even showed her belly on her very first day! 🥰 Her appetite is great, too. ❤️

Dongi, an 8-month-old, 15 kg Jindo mix, is also wonderfully friendly and affectionate. She loves people, enjoys making new friends, and is always happy to receive love and attention. 🐾❤️ She will be fostered while waiting for her permanent forever home.

🌸 Aug 30 — Ivy (aka Gomju)

Ivy is settling in nicely! 😊 At first, she wasn’t quite sure about Luna, but they are learning to respect each other and share their space. ❤️

On her second day, Ivy was still a little nervous and spent lots of time walking around, but she’s beginning to have calm moments where she can settle down. And there was a wonderful little milestone — Ivy pooped outside for the first time! 🎉🐶

Every new beginning takes time, and these little victories are worth celebrating. We’re so happy to see these pups finding their way home, one step at a time. 🏡💗

🐾 AKR ARRIVAL & HAPPY UPDATE — AUGUST 17–21 🐾

Another week of new beginnings, new families, and little steps forward. 💕 Welcome home, sweet pups! 🏡🐶

🌸 Aug 17 — Aura (aka Orea)
Aura is slowly showing more of her personality as she settles into her new home. With help from her trainer, her family is learning to better understand her body language. There’s still work ahead, but they’ve already made great progress together. And of course, Aura has her very own Dalmatian-style stuffed toy! 🖤🤍🐾

🦴 Aug 20 — Hazel | Arrived at BOS
Hazel is doing GREAT! 🎉 She immediately knew the boxes of toys were for her and picked out all the bones — definitely a bone girl! 😂🦴 She loves her bed, follows her family around, supervises in the kitchen, and has explored the backyard and neighborhood. She even loved her first car ride! 🚗❤️ Hazel is settling in beautifully.

🌸 Aug 21 — Sori & Jiho
Jiho is doing wonderfully! 💕 She has a good appetite, walks nicely, and is starting to open up by bringing toys and asking for affection. Her family is letting her set the pace. Follow her adventures on Instagram: 🐾

Sori needs a little more time to adjust, and that’s okay. ❤️ She’s eating and drinking normally, while her family continues to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and comfortable.

Every dog has their own timeline. We’re so grateful for families who give them the patience, love, and trust they need. 🏡💗

Welcome home, Aura, Hazel, Jiho & Sori! May your new lives be filled with love, cozy beds, favorite toys, happy walks, and forever families. 🐾❤️

We're catching up on a few more arrival updates from our AKR pups. ❤️

📅 August 13 – Mia (aka Haneul) arrived in Toronto 🇨🇦
Mia is settling in nicely and loves going to the park and exploring her new surroundings. 🌳🥰

📅 August 14 – Bam-i arrived in Toronto 🇨🇦
Bam-i has her own cozy bed, but she much prefers settling down close to her family. Her two human sisters are always nearby to keep her company. 🥰

📅 August 15 – Tai & DanPoong arrived at JFK 🇺🇸
Tai has made herself right at home! She loves her chew toys and has quickly become her owner’s little shadow. 🥰

DanPoong loves going outside, looking out the window, and being playful. He also enjoys following his people around wherever they go. 🐾❤️

We're so happy to see these pups settling in and enjoying their new lives!

What an incredible month!
These 28 beautiful pups found their forever families in August. 🏡✨

Every adoption represents so much more than a happy ending — it takes an entire community to get each dog home. A huge thank you to our adopters, fosters, flight volunteers, transport volunteers, supporters, and our amazing rescue team in Korea who make all of this possible.

Seeing these faces with their new families is exactly why we do what we do. 💙

Summer is in full swing, and we hope the AKR community is enjoying it! ☀️🐾

We are so happy to share the latest updates on our recent arrivals who have officially kicked off their brand-new lives:

✨ July 31 | Vancouver (YVR)

Bongsil (now Ember) & Taeri (now Louie) made their grand entrance and jumped right into the loving arms of their forever families! They’re already approaching their 1-month milestone. Follow their adventures at Ember “Emmy” and Louie Flowers!

✨ August 1 | Las Vegas (LAS) & Vancouver (YVR)

Boni instantly gained two furry siblings and already hit up her very first pool party! 💦🐶

Hito is loving outdoor explorations! While he’s settling into his routine, he’s already claimed his absolute favorite spot: his cozy bed right under the dining table. 💤

✨ August 3 | Seattle (SEA)

Among (now Poppy) is learning to trust and bloom! With endless love, patience, and care from her wonderful family, she’s gaining confidence every single day. 🌸

✨ August 6 | Calgary (YYC)

Cian (now Penny) had quite the journey! Her parents flew to Calgary to meet her before heading off to her forever home in Toronto. Penny is pure sweetness and loves everyone she meets! Check out her updates at Penny! 💖

✨ August 13 | Seattle (SEA)

Hodol is hard at work! He’s already mastering leash manners and working on his indoor voice. With his family’s amazing support, he’s well on his way to becoming the ultimate polite pup! 🎓🐶

✨ August 22 | Vancouver (YVR)

Changsu (now Archer) & Toffee (now Fitzy) landed in YVR! Both boys are settling into their new routines, finished their first vet checkups, and got glowing health reports! 🎉

🐾 AKR Arrival Update – July 4, 6 & 8 🐾

We're happy to share an update on some of our July arrivals!

❤️ July 4: Roda
❤️ July 6: Day
❤️ July 8: Ogu & Cheese, who safely arrived in Washington thanks to the kindness of our amazing flight volunteers.

Roda has been an absolute angel in her new home! She's enjoying her salmon biscuits, loves going for walks, and is such a happy, sweet girl. 🥰

Day is settling in beautifully and loving the great outdoors! She enjoys taking in all the new smells, confidently tackled the stairs, and has so much energy despite her long journey. After a cozy first night, she's already exploring the gardens, asking for walks, and showing everyone just how much she loves being outside.

We're also happy to share that Ogu and Cheese have safely arrived in Washington and are beginning their new lives with their loving families.

Thank you to our adopters and flight volunteers for making these happy endings possible. ❤️🐾

A little belated, but we're happy to share an update on our late June arrivals!

❤️ June 25: Kyuhyun & Kiss
❤️ June 26: Dona (now Tofu) & Tori – mother and son, who safely arrived in Toronto thanks to the kindness of our amazing flight volunteers.
❤️ June 29: Jett & Taeyang (now Ollie)

Kyuhyun is slowly gaining confidence and has become a sweet, affectionate shadow to his adopter. While he's still adjusting to apartment life and new sounds, he's making wonderful progress every day.

Kiss is settling in nicely, eating well, and getting comfortable in her new home—though she seems to prefer the cool floor over her new dog bed!

Jett is doing great! He's eating, drinking well, full of energy, and already enjoying his toys.

Taeyang (Ollie) is also settling in well. He's sleeping peacefully, enjoying walks, eating and drinking well, playing with toys, and soaking up lots of cuddles.

We're also happy to share that Dona (formerly Tofu) and her son, Tori, are settling into their new homes and beginning their next chapters surrounded by love.

A huge thank you to all of our adopters and flight volunteers for making these happy endings possible. ❤️🐾

🇺🇸 July 4 | San Francisco Peach (now Georgia) landed on the 4th! She’s still adjusting to new sounds and meals, but is already head-over-heels adored by her family.

🇨🇦 July 8 | Vancouver Little Pablo arrived to stay with his foster, Jaeyeol, until he selects his forever home!

🇨🇦 July 9 | Vancouver Ernie & Chino (now Wolfie) arrived together! Ernie headed straight to his family, while Wolfie enjoyed a cozy foster stay before meeting his.

🇺🇸 July 9 | San Francisco Little princess Nabi flew in! She’s working hard on expanding her food palette—a work in progress, but she’s getting there! 🥣

🇺🇸🇨🇦 July 13 | Vancouver & Seattle Nana landed in Van and crushed her first road trip! Over in Seattle, Joan (now Nita) & Dukman both arrived and are learning to share space with new furry siblings.

🇨🇦 July 15 | Vancouver Cute Udong (now Udon) is exploring his new neighborhood! Follow his adventures at Udon the Corgi ✨
