Here she is!

All fixed up including spay, treated with Revolution, they also provided a dose of dewormer thankfully. Her viral test results were negative! Unfortunately our request to not ear tip her wasn’t fulfilled, but we are grateful for the help with her from the TAS feral cat clinic.

She’s estimated to be only 8 months old!!! We strongly suspect she was abandoned at the colony.

These colonies have existed for years - generations of cats have lived here as well as passed through. It’s not a secret that there are feeders at colony B where we access the food stations in a parking lot where employees of various businesses park as well as patrons of the businesses. As long as we’ve been feeding at colony A and B, we’ve encountered various new cats. This is the first time we found an eight month old intact female kitten.

Of course we had to secure her and we don’t intend to release her back at the colony. We checked lost cat posts but nothing matches her. Her temporary sitter reports she is scared but not terrified, and has allowed petting.

We are going to need supplies for her indoor acclimation/rehabilitation. We will need dry kitten food, wet kitten food, Churus/treats, cat litter, and Zylkene Plus for her. Please consider sending gifts for her.

Sully
We’ve missed seeing his cute face that we have been used to seeing several times a week for the past year and a half. As much as I know we cannot save them all, I can’t help but feel like we failed Sully, like he slipped through the cracks. We wanted to rescue him for indoor retirement but he disappeared before we could properly plan it.

I still think about Sully. I never got closure on what happened to him. He deserved to be rescued and retire indoors in safety like the rest of them. He was also allegedly the father of Molly, our old and sick friend who is in palliative care.

It’s depressing AF though, remembering the ones who got away. Sully was older and had unusual behaviours for an outdoor colony cat. Perhaps he was developing dementia. He’d often be sleeping outside exposed to the rain or snow even if it was a snow storm. I should have prioritized him.

Meanwhile the world is on fire and those who exploit cats for profit continue to breed more into existence. It’s no wonder I have trouble sleeping. The ones who disappeared still haunt me.

I can see Magic’s baby teeth are getting close to falling out 🥹

Magic and Skylar were urgently rescued from feline dystopia in Toronto as estimated 6 month old kittens after their two littermates perished outdoors. They are presently being acclimated to indoors and socialized.
