New Cat City will always speak out on injustices outside of our cat rescue bubble. We know and acknowledge how fortunate we are to have the privilege to do rescue work without war crimes being committed on us, no bombs and no white phosphorus, no forced starvation and displacement, and our family members and animal companions are safe and sound.
We all have a moral obligation and responsibility to help when we become aware of suffering. When we learned about this event we volunteered to try to help raise funds collectively with a plant based bake sale. (We mention plant based because cows and chickens are oppressed beings at the hands of human domination, mother cows are force impregnated to continue producing milk, and male chicks are grinded alive because they serve no purpose to the egg industry).
We are anti-oppression, anti-fascist, and anti racist. We happen to also be involved with animal rescue. We will use our platform to help other causes when we can. Last night we raised C$195.00 from our bake sale. SJPTMU requested a 15% donation for families in Gaza. We rounded the amount to $200 and gave 50% and the other 50% was donated to Sulala Animal Rescue Sulala Animal Rescue in Gaza for their work with rescuing and helping animals there on the ground.
