TESL Ontario's volunteers help to keep our association moving forward! Their invaluable contributions of time and expertise are key to every webinar, blog post, conference, and resource we produce.
In addition to awarding a monthly appreciation gift to one lucky TESL Ontario volunteer, we have added a quarterly draw to recognize one of our amazing team members who has donated their time, energy and expertise to further the goals of the association and to support the TESL field as a whole in Ontario. Our quarterly draw recipients receive a complimentary one-year renewal of their TESL Ontario membership.
This quarter we are delighted to announce that Dr. MaryAnne John, a key contributor to our TESL Ontario Mentorship Events from their inception several years ago, is our lucky recipient.
MaryAnne has been a valued member of the TESL Ontario Mentorship Program since its inception more than five years ago, generously sharing her time, experience, and expertise with new teachers and members seeking advice and support. Her willingness to help, thoughtful insights, and genuine commitment to supporting others have made her an invaluable member of the volunteer team. Friendly, accommodating, and always willing to lend a hand, MaryAnne is truly a delight to work with and we are incredibly grateful for everything she brings to the TESL Ontario community.
With 25 years of experience in TESOL across three countries, MaryAnne brings a wealth of knowledge and perspective to her mentorship work. She is TESL certified and teaches ESL, Business English, and Academic English to undergraduate and adult learners in Ontario. Her doctoral research in Composition and TESOL, along with her particular interest in multilingual students entering Canadian classrooms with academic literacies from their home countries, informs her thoughtful and inclusive approach to teaching and mentorship.
Congratulations, MaryAnne!
