Nerd Nite Toronto

Nerd Nite Toronto For fans of Nerd Nite Toronto: Founded as a recurring pub lecture series. Currently twice a year! Be there and be square What is Nerd Nite, you ask?

Nerd Nite Toronto is a group for all the Toronto fans of Nerd Nite. A monthly event where nerds and those who love them get together to drink beer and give 20-ish-minute presentations on subjects that are ostensibly of great interest to nerds. Past topics include dark energy, intelligence of cephalopods, history of real pirates, and our city's scariest Founder, Joseph Bloore. It's like the Discovery Channel, with beer. EDIT: heard you loud and clear, trying for November!

-------------------

Hi friends, while the snow has just thawed, we're thinking ahead to the Holiday (Nerdtacular) season.

Some dates aren't available on Saturdays at the beginning of December. Its a tricky time of year.

Riddle me this:

Considering your typical holiday obligations, would you rather an event in mid-November, or mid-December?

We are thrilled to share that TRANZAC has secured $550,000 in capital funding through the City of Toronto.

This will support critical upgrades to our building, including HVAC modernization and fully accessible gender neutral washrooms - work that keeps the space running and open to everyone, year round.

If you’ve ever been here on a packed night, or wandered in on something unexpected, you know the magic of this place. This investment helps ensure we can continue to operate reliably and serve the community long term.

This is also a meaningful moment for cultural spaces across the Annex and Ward 11. The same motion supports Annex Theatre and the Miles Nadal JCC (Al Green Theatre), strengthening the cultural gems that make this neighbourhood what it is.

A huge thank you to Councillor Dianne Saxe for her leadership in making this a reality, to Councillor Jamaal Myers for seconding the motion, and to City Council for supporting cultural spaces in our community.

We know there will be questions, and we’ll be sharing more as plans take shape and the work moves forward.

These upgrades are an important step, but they are only part of what it takes to sustain a space like this. We will continue to rely on the support of our community as we move forward.

This place exists because of you
