A worker is a worker: No matter where we come from, no matter our immigration status — we stand together.

Join us this May Day as migrant justice organizers from Minneapolis and New Brunswick come together to name divide-and-rule strategies and build solidarity against them.

Featuring Aizar Cabrera from the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee, speaking on the fight for survival in Minneapolis and how migrant communities are building solidarity in the face of escalating attacks.

While politicians use deportation and anti-migrant policy to distract from rising rents, low wages, and crumbling services — we refuse that divide.

Sixty years of exploitation. Sixty years of resistance.

On March 31, 1966, Canada created the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program - a legal leash binding migrant workers to a single employer. For 60 years since, migrants have built, fed, and cared for communities across Canada while being excluded from rights and separated from family. For 60 years, migrants have resisted.

Today we're launching a timeline of that struggle - the policies that built this system, and the people who fought back and won. Today we insist: migrants are the solution.

Three people, including two MWAC staff, were arrested at today’s protest against Canadian ties to ICE violence and Bill C-12. Protests against Canadian companies Hootsuite, Roshel, and GardaWorld for providing social media, armored vehicles, and security for ICE have taken place in Vancouver and today in Toronto. The peaceful die-in took place at the headquarters of Hootsuite in Toronto. As the rally was ending, police violently moved in on protestors, making one person bleed. Police threatened anyone trying to intervene, resulting in three arrests.

TOMORROW! ACTION REMINDER: Cut Canadian ties to ICE, Stop Bill C-12. Flash lunchtime action outside Toronto Hootsuite HQ.

12pm, Thurs Feb 26
Hootsuite HQ
200 Wellington St

Last year, the highest number of deaths were reported in ICE detention. In Canada, at least 17 people have died in Canadian immigration enforcement custody.

We will read some of their names aloud tomorrow at the rally to mourn the dead, fight for the living.

Harm against migrants will worsen if Bill C-12 passes. Let’s not be silent as Canadian companies like Hootsuite, Roshel and GardaWorld do social media, supply vehicles and guards to ICE, and PM Carney builds a mass deportation machine here.

Dress warm and bring a friend.

Canadian companies like Hootsuite, GardaWorld & Roshel are arming and enabling ICE's raids, kidnappings, killings and detention camps in the US. Meanwhile in Canada - PM Carney is pushing ahead Bill C-12 which would let the government cancel immigration status for entire groups overnight and deny rights to refugees.

Join us for an emergency lunch time rally - Migrants on both sides of the border need us in the streets.

RALLY – STOP BILL C-12, CUT CANADIAN TIES TO ICE
Thurs, Feb 26 | 12pm
Hootsuite Toronto HQ | 200 Wellington St W

Bring your union, your community group, your coworkers, your friends.

Caught on video: government misleading the Senate.
Immigration officials told Senators Bill C-12 won’t cancel people’s status.
Their own law proves otherwise.
This isn’t confusion. It’s misrepresentation.
If they truly believed in this bill, they wouldn’t need to lie about its consequences. There is still time to stop it.
