Join us on Sunday, March 2nd at 5:30pm on zoom for an interactive session with guest speaker Erin Bardua on exploring strategies for learning and teaching the techniques and tropes of pop- and R&B- flavoured singing styles in commercial music and musical theatre! 🎀🎧🎷🎸🎭

We will dive into topics including: codifying vocal techniques to make learning simpler and teaching more strategic, demystifying techniques and conventions of commercial styles for the classically trained, using tools like audio spectrum analysis to nail down the characteristics of sound that make a break pop style ... and many more!

Link will be provided in bio 🎢

More about our guest Erin Bardua: She is soprano, vocalist, stage director, and instructor/clinician. She enjoys a range of artistic pursuits encompassing new compositions, early music, and the work of historically overlooked creators, in a range of styles from Western classical to commercial. A co-founder of opera collective Essential Opera, she is featured on their award-winning EP β€œEtiquette” in the role of Emily Post and in EO’s opera films β€œDecember” and β€œMirror Mirror”.

Erin has performed with the Early Music Society of the Islands, Salt Spring Baroque, Victoria Baroque, Talisker Players, Nota Bene Baroque, Pax Christi Chorale, Capella Intima, London Pro Musica, Vancouver Opera, and Pacific Opera Victoria, among others. She has provided dramatic coaching, stage direction, and voice instruction for COSA, Victoria Baroque Intensive, Halifax Summer Opera Festival, and productions at Mount Allison University.

We hope to see you there! πŸ‘‹πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨
