🙋‍♀️ Would all the people-pleasers here please raise their hand (and I’m one of them)

This is your reminder that kindness and people-pleasing aren’t the same thing.

Kindness says: “I care about you.”

People-pleasing says: “I need you to like me.”

One comes from confidence.
The other often comes from fear.

Too many women are taught that saying yes, avoiding conflict and putting everyone else first makes them a “good person.”

It doesn’t.

Being kind doesn’t mean having no boundaries. It doesn’t mean over-explaining yourself. It doesn’t mean saying yes when you want to say no. And it definitely doesn’t mean shrinking yourself to keep other people comfortable.

You can be compassionate and still be clear. You can be generous and still protect your peace. You can disappoint someone and still be a good person.
