Dressage (can be ridden English or Western)

Don’t forget to mark Saturday October 24th on your calendar! That’s when we’ll be throwing LongRun’s 4th Graduate Show at our farm in Hillsburgh!

Mr Diffley’s forever person, Jane, sent us an update recently. Mr Diffley is not only winning all the ribbons in the Hunter ring he is now winning them in the dressage ring.

Moments before we captured this video Spinzar, Belentine, Tomasso and Soonar Lunar were frolicking in their pasture, running, bucking with tails up but as is often the case with horses the camera wasn’t at the ready.

Woodbine Entertainment Vice President, People and Culture, Graham Fisher, recently visited the farm with his daughter, Kaylie, to meet Eurico (.horse) and spend some time with the horses. 🐴❤️

As Eurico shared, “It was absolutely beautiful to witness Graham and his daughter connecting with the horses.”

A special visit filled with connection, kindness, and a shared love for these incredible animals. ✨

Belentime is looking for his forever home!

This handsome 16.2h gelding enjoys working and is an absolute pleasure to ride. He is a lovely mover and would make a perfect lower level dressage horse.

No jumping in his future due to a past injury, but he would love to be a pleasure mount for dressage and hacking.

How about a big shout out to Woodbine Cares for organizing our very successful 50/50 draw on King's Plate day this past Saturday, and to all the people who supported it.

Thank you for boosting the prize to over $25,000, half of which will go to helping us care for the close to 70 retired racehorses we currently have in the LongRun program.

An especial message of gratitude goes out to Woodbine's Kimberley Medeiros, who with her team was instrumental in organizing this initiative, as well as our hard working volunteers, Lea, Mark, Julie and Alicia, directors Julie Coulter and Debbie England, and our exec administrator, Sarah Bowen, who put in an extraordinary effort to get the whole thing going.

Winners of the LongRun Hunter Classic Shanen and Neville (Making A Point) and their coach Samantha Fawcett .equestrian posed for the camera.

We received a heartwarming message from Shanen’s mom:

“Just want to say thank you for the Long Run Thoroughbred Challenge this week at Caledon Summer show four at Caledon Equestrian park. My daughter, Shanen McFadden, won it on her wonderful 22 year old Thoroughbred, Neville (Making A Point). They had a wonderful round and were thrilled to represent the breed. They ride with Samantha Fawcett at Meraki Equestrian with many other wonderful Thoroughbreds. Thank you 🩷”

The best of buddies, Pink Lloyd and Riker, are never far from each other. So heartwarming to watch them interact in their pasture.

Pink Lloyd foaled 2012, by Old Forester out of Gladiator Queen (by Great Gladiator), had 38 starts with 29 wins earning $1,884,584 US (over $2M C) – Last raced November 2021. 2017 Canadian Horse of The Year, 8 time Canadian champion.
