Golden Connections | Workshop Highlights

Our October 3rd Golden Connections workshop at Riverstone Community Centre was a beautiful afternoon filled with wellness, connection, laughter, and positive energy!

We were happy to welcome 35+ seniors and 10 volunteers, along with our special guest Meeta Khanna (Gurmeet Kaur), who led an uplifting “Feed the Soul – An Introduction to Energy Healing” session. Through breathing, gentle exercises, meditation, and a forgiveness practice, participants enjoyed a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.

Afterwards, we enjoyed light refreshments and some fun memory-focused games, bringing lots of smiles, laughter, and participation.

A heartfelt thank you to Meeta Khanna, our wonderful volunteers, and all our seniors for making the afternoon so special.

A special thank you to Kawal Puri ji, one of our active participants, for connecting us with Meeta Khanna and inviting her to be part of our workshop.

Take Back the Night 2026

On September 17th, Evening, UNITED SIKHS Canada joined the annual Take Back the Night event organized by the Peel Committee Against Women Abuse (PCAWA).

It was a meaningful evening that brought together community members and organizations from across Peel, creating space for connection, meaningful conversations, awareness, and solidarity.

UNITED SIKHS stands with PCAWA and community partners against gender-based violence and all forms of violence against women.
Together, we raise awareness, support one another, and continue working towards safer, stronger, and more inclusive communities where everyone can live with safety, dignity, and respect. 🤝

We will carry them forward.

WE ARE NOT LETTING THIS END WITH A DELETED POST.

UNITED SIKHS has formally filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for a civil rights review and corrective action following the DHS “Mr. Singh” graphic.

Removing the post does not erase the harm or the questions it raised.

Our complaint calls for accountability, an acknowledgment of the impact on Sikh Americans and other communities, and safeguards to help prevent similar incidents from happening again.

🌿 A Beautiful Day of Golden Connections!

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, United Sikhs Canada, under our Golden Connections program, brought together 45 wonderful seniors and 11 dedicated volunteers for a beautiful picnic at Eldorado Park, Brampton.

It was a day filled with laughter, games, delicious food, conversations, and countless happy moments. From participating in activities to simply sitting together and enjoying each other’s company, our seniors embraced every moment with so much joy and enthusiasm.

What made the day truly special was seeing seniors come together, connect with one another, make memories, and enjoy a peaceful day surrounded by their community. The smiles, laughter, and wonderful feedback we received from everyone made all our efforts worthwhile. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers for bringing so much energy, care, and warmth to the day. And most importantly, thank you to all our seniors for making the picnic so special! 🙏
