Did you know … there’s music in the air at Neilson Park! 🎶

Yes it’s true! NPCC now has ongoing Guitar and Ukulele courses for beginners and experienced players. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a more seasoned player, the classes are designed to meet you at your level. You will learn everything from optimal playing positions, to open chords and reading the charts, building up from one chord tunes through simple blues to three chord (or more) favourite tunes off the charts. 🎸

Join the class with Carol Essex and enjoy singing and playing together with fellow music lovers! 🎵

One on one attention is also provided to help everyone hone their playing skill. It’s time together to make music! 😃

Congratulations to the winners of our first ever catalogue drawing contest! 🌟👏

For those who flipped through our Fall program catalogue, they found a surprise in the form of an opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate to one of our classes by showing off their art skills.

Thank you to the participants of the Fall 2026 drawing competition for the theme of "Fall Landscape", all of your works of art were amazing!

For Jerry and Wendy Smith, Neilson Park Creative Centre has been part of their lives for decades through art, education, volunteerism, leadership, friendship, and giving back.

Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down with Jerry as he and Wendy were recognized on NPCC’s donor wall and ask him what has kept them connected to this place for so many years.

His answer was bigger than any one donation.

Jerry spoke about the many ways people contribute to the communities they care about — by giving their time, sharing their knowledge and connections, offering financial support, or simply continuing to show up.

And when we asked him to choose his favourite memory from all those years at NPCC?

“Every time I come here, it’s my current best memory.”

From paints flying to lively music blasting, our Creative Festival was a hit! ✨✨

On July 11th, the public visited NPCC to enjoy a plethora of fun activities! Adults and kids alike crafted amazing projects at our arts and crafts tent, gathered around to listen to fantastic music by talented performers, and cheered on artists in our Plein-Air competition as they captured the beauty of the park. Visitors browsed our galleries for this year's IMPACT exhibition, and over 50 local artists and makers shared their work in our vendor market! 🎶🎨

Thank you to everyone who came out and made meaningful memories with fellow participants — and a huge thank-you to our presenting partners Toronto Pearson and Great Lakes Brewery, our resident groups, musicians, artists, volunteers, and staff, without whom this event wouldn't have been possible! 😊😊

We are ecstatic with this year's turnout and are looking forward to next year's festivities!

Breaking news! 📣📣

NPCC is hosting a drawing contest with a chance to win a $100 gift certificate towards one of our classes or workshops this fall! ✏️

We have an adult category for people 18 and up, and a youth category for kids aged 5-17, so anyone can join! 😃

In order to enter, just grab one of our catalogues at the centre and you'll find in the last few pages the contest form! You then draw your art based on the theme in the blank space, fill in the info below and bring the entry to NPCC!

Our theme this season is Fall Landscape! 🍂

We can't wait to see your amazing entries!
