Canadian Parents for French Ontario - CPF Ontario CPF ON is a research-informed, volunteer organization, who champions opportunities to learn French. Want more? Looking to be more involved?

With a small branch office and a volunteer board of directors, CPF Ontario provides a range of accessible supports for schools, teachers, parents, students and all who value French Second Language (FSL) in Ontario including:

-Opportunities to learn and use French in and outside of the classroom, campaigns about the benefits of FSL education, research, information, tools and resources to support parents, teachers and students including updates of important issues and events involving FSL issues. Become a member and join CPF to be part of the local link between parents, educators and our local chapters. Webinars, informative conferences and extracurricular French experiences for children and families await you!

O’Poésie is a national French-language poetry contest for students in grades 1 to 12 (CEGEP 1) enrolled in FSL programs across Canada.

This is an opportunity for students to explore the beauty and expressiveness of the French language through a creative learning project, to practice literary skills, and develop a sense of belonging in Canada’s Francophone community.

Last year over 350 students from across Canada competed.

This day encourages Canadians to learn, listen, and deepen their understanding of the experiences and histories of Indigenous peoples. On September 10, 2026, Canadians across the country will celebrate Official Languages Day📣

Since 2009, Official Languages Day has been celebrated on the second Thursday of September. It is an opportunity to uphold our linguistic heritage and highlight the initiatives and community voices that contribute to the vitality of English and French.

This year’s theme, Two Voices in Harmony, places music 🎶at the heart of the 2026 Official Languages Day celebrations. A powerful means of sharing and learning, music is a vibrant reflection of our cultural identity. Through its melodies, it carries the values, stories, and memories of our communities from one generation to the next, strengthening our sense of belonging.

We invite you to join the celebration and encourage you to:

🟢Participate in the virtual event on September 10, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. (ET), which features a discussion with panelists from diverse backgrounds on the power of Canadian music to unite our cultures, our languages, and our communities.
