🏫 Clear plans can help school teams respond with confidence.

Before the school year begins, families and students impacted by hydrocephalus and/or spina bifida may want to review three important areas with the school:

🩺 Medical needs β€” Share relevant information, medication or treatment instructions, emergency contacts, and the steps staff should follow.

β™Ώ Mobility and access β€” Confirm accessible entrances, classrooms, washrooms, routes, elevators and any mobility supports the student uses.

🚨 Emergency planning β€” Make sure key staff understand the individualized plan, know who to contact, and can access essential information when needed.

Every student’s needs are different. Plans should be developed with the student, family, school team and healthcare professionals, as appropriate.
