💙 Throwback to 2023!

Sometimes it’s worth looking back to see just how far we’ve come.

These moments take us back to 2023 and another moment that helped shape the Hydrocephalus Canada community we have today. Behind every event, program and milestone are real people individuals, families, volunteers, supporters and partners who continue to show up for the spina bifida and hydrocephalus community.

We’ve grown and changed since then, but that sense of community continues to be at the heart of everything we do.

$25,000 raised at our 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Behind that number is an incredible community.

Golfers who came out for the day. Businesses that chose to sponsor. Donors who contributed prizes and experiences. Volunteers who gave their time. And a team working behind the scenes to bring it all together. Growing up with spina bifida or hydrocephalus can look different for every child and family.
Early support, inclusive education, advocacy and access to care can help children participate, learn and build confidence.

Across Canada, families, educators, healthcare professionals and community organizations all have a role to play in creating spaces where children are supported and included.
This World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day, we’re recognizing a lifetime of experiences, beginning in childhood.

Take part in the WSBHD2026 Challenge: share a photo, short video or written reflection from your journey.

How to Participate
Your experience can help raise awareness across Canada and around the world.
For World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day 2026, people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals and organizations are invited to share a meaningful moment from their journey.
Your contribution can be a photo, a short video of up to two minutes, or a short written story or reflection. Send it to [email protected] or messenger. We will share your story on our channels throughout the month.
Use and to help connect experiences from communities across Canada with the global campaign.
