Grab your skates. The Screech Owls are coming to the screen! 🏒🦉

Roy MacGregor's beloved hockey books are getting a new animated life, with NHL All-Star P.K. Subban starring as Coach P.K. and serving as executive producer. PWHL star Sarah Nurse makes a cameo as herself, alongside other guest stars.

Produced in Toronto by Shaftesbury and Sphere Animation in partnership with the NHL and Boat Rocker, this CMF-funded action-adventure series follows a youth hockey team across Canada as they solve mysteries, face high-tech villains and take on impossible missions.

In Akiiwan: Relaxing Survival, a talking fire guides you as you learn to live off the land. It teaches you to forage, hunt and craft, and shares the stories behind every plant and material along the way.

Created by Little Buffalo Studios, a Toronto-based team of Indigenous developers and artists, the CMF-funded game weaves story into survival, while showing the ingenuity behind Indigenous tools and technologies.

In 2025–2026, CMF investments fuelled a record $1.93B in screen industry activity across Canada. Every $1 we invested drew $5.75 in additional financing.

The National Audience Data Consortium is launching an industry survey to identify audience needs, challenges and opportunities across Canada's audiovisual sector.

Beginning October 8th, Leger will contact industry professionals and organizations from across the Canadian audiovisual sector to participate in the survey.

The National Audience Data Consortium is a collaborative initiative of the Canada Media Fund, CBC/Radio-Canada, the Indigenous Screen Office, the NFB, and Telefilm Canada.

For Julie O'Bomsawin, television has a unique power: it reaches people in their living rooms and moves them with stories they never expected to find.

With her studio, Kassiwi Média, the Abenaki producer brings Nish to the screen. Adapted from the novels of Wendat author Isabelle Picard, this youth series follows Innu-Wendat twins growing up in Matimekosh, on Quebec's Côte-Nord. With 20% of its dialogue in Innu, it's a first for Quebec television.

Nish is now streaming on ICI TOU.TV.
