Congratulations to Minister Petten on his appointment as Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs, following this morning's cabinet shuffle. PMA is looking forward to working with the new minister and continuing our advocacy for municipal administrators across the province.

A huge congratulations to Minister Tibbs on his new appointment as well. Thank you for the work you've done!

It has been nearly 4 years since PMA has collected data on salaries and other benefits/compensation for municipal administrators.

Our goal with the 2026 Compensation & Benefits Survey is to create a current and relevant baseline for salaries and benefits that our members currently receive. This data will also help members individually as you prepare to negotiate annual salary increases or additional benefits. Additionally, PMA can use the survey data to build an advocacy platform to ensure municipal employees are receiving fair and competitive wages.

Your contact information will not be shared--we are collecting it only so that we can follow up with you should any questions arise about your response.

The survey closes on August 31, 2026. The survey period is to allow us to review and share the results at our upcoming Fall Forum.

Our association prides itself in curating our training events to best suit the unique and varying needs of our members. We anticipate this coming Fall Forum will be just as rewarding!

While we take time today to celebrate the many strengths of our country, we encourage reflection on the complexities of it's history--especially as we continue the ongoing process of reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

A future where all children can flourish demands collective effort and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive Canada.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday! The PMA office is closed, and will re-open tomorrow, July 2nd.

On this day, July 1st, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians observe Memorial Day to commemorate the participation of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in times of war--particularly during the Battle of the Somme in Beaumont-Hamel, France, beginning on July 1st, 1916.

Memorial day is an annual observance to ensure their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
