Our mission is to advance gender equity through advocacy and justice-doing programs and services. Together with 32 YWCAs across Canada and YWCAs in over 120 countries, YWCA St. John’s is a part of the largest and oldest movement to advance gender justice globally.

Build confidence and advocacy skills in a supportive environment! 📢

LEAD is a 5-day YWCA leadership program for young women and gender-diverse youth, ages 15-18. You'll meet inspiring community change-makers, connect with peers, and learn about anti-racism and youth activism.

💫Dates: July 20-24, 2026
💫Open to: Young women and gender-diverse youth (e.g. nonbinary, trans, 2S, genderfluid...), ages 15-18
💫Location: YWCA office, downtown St. John's
💫How to join: This program is 100% free! It includes daily lunch and snacks, transportation support, and a certificate. To register, just fill out a quick online form at ywcastjohns.com/lead-program

📣 It's Early Childhood Educators Week!

✨ ECE's are skilled professionals, trained to deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the social and emotional learning of children, with seminal impacts across the lifespan.

✅Our Child Care at Work report, highlights that parents and guardians across NL make the connection between the child care crisis and the ECE workforce, indicating the need for an increased wage grid, paid sick days, and a defined benefits pension plan. This is gender equity at work.
