Virginia Park Community Center would like to extend our gratitude to our Mug Up partners over at St. Mark's Anglican Church for a wonderful year of collaboration, teamwork, and of course, delicious food! This partnership is an invaluable asset for us at the centre, and helps us provide our community with evenings of connection over wonderful suppers provided by a terrific team of dedicated volunteers who take pride in the work that they do.

The collaboration of our combined teams over this past year has provided our staff, volunteers, and residents with countless opportunities for learning, building connections, and strengthening community bonds. We are very proud of all that our Mug Up team has accomplished over this last year, and we look forward to building upon those accomplishments when we return in the fall- and we hope everyone has a great summer!"

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is reminding cyclists and all road users of the importance of bicycle safety.

With summer upon us and children heading outdoors to play, there will be more cyclists on our roadways. With such an increase in bicycle traffic, motorists are advised to slow down in residential areas, avoid distractions, and be extra vigilant to help prevent injuries and keep cyclists safe. The RNC reminds drivers to maintain a minimum distance of one meter between their vehicle and the cyclist. Where posted speed limits are greater than 60 kilometers per hour, the required distance is one and a half meters.

The RNC encourages cyclists to adhere to the following safety guidelines:

• Always wear a property fitted helmet.
• Wear bright, reflective clothing and protective gear.
• Make sure your bike is in good riding condition; check your brakes and tires regularly.
• Ensure your bike has reflectors so approaching vehicles can see you.
• Use proper hand signals and obey traffic signs and lights.
• Ride on the right side of the road travelling in the same direction as traffic.
• Walk your bike through a crosswalk; make eye contact with drivers to ensure they see you.
• Stay off sidewalks and yield to pedestrians at intersections.
• Avoid the use of headphones.

Shakespeare's
The Two Gentlemen of Verona
Directed by Sharon King-Campbell

July 17 - August 8
Fridays & Saturdays at 6pm

About the Show
Proteus and Valentine are headed to Milan, bringing along their clownish servants and followed by Proteus’ beloved, Julia, who is wondering why he has ghosted her.

When both Gentlemen fall in love with the same girl, a truly Shakespearean sort of chaos ensues.

Between the laughs, we ask ourselves, who deserves to be forgiven?
