The Museum Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MANL) is committed to our mandate to aid in the improvement and promotion of museums, as well as promoting professionalism and skills development within the museum and heritage community. Part of fulfilling that commitment is offering resources to MANL membership to support staff and volunteers with guidelines for best practices.

Recently, MANL was successful in our application for a Museum Assistance Program grant in order to update the Guidelines for the Operations of Community Museums in Newfoundland and Labrador (2007) from the second edition to the third edition and to include material previously not covered. This publication will include updated information in the areas of governance and management, collections management, communications, IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) and Reconciliation, and additional resources to support those who run museums in Newfoundland and Labrador.

To begin the first phase of this project, we at MANL are asking for your feedback on your experience with this community resource. Through filling out this survey, you provide MANL with a better understanding of how this specific resource is used by our membership which will guide how it is updated!

To fill out the survey: https://forms.gle/kjCbkfbvvuxdbFU97

The survey will be open until 4:30 PM NDT on Friday, October 30, 2026.

This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada. Ce projet a été rendu possible en partie grâce au gouvernement du Canada.
