As Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving, I am reminded of the outpouring of love and bounty experienced in Mulanje, Malawi. We learned so much about true generosity and gratitude 🧡

Netball tournaments and Sports Days connect the community in intentional ways. With an average of 3,000 people in attendance, the FVM Malawi team draws in key stakeholders for talks on child protection, gender based violence, education and health screening. Amidst the fun, important information is shared!

Volunteers are a key part of FVM’s work. Their faithful service each day of the school year is the foundation of programs operating well ❤️

We said our earthly goodbye to Chrispin this past week. He had retired as a security guard at Mulunguzi House after serving well and brightening lives with his sweet smile. Chrispin will be missed by many.

His love for Jesus means he stepped across into deeper joy and life than he has ever known. Our hearts are comforted knowing this, as we miss his presence on earth.

We recently submitted an Expression of Interest for International Development Funding. It is challenging to express the work of FVM within a two-page submission! To capture how the community comes together to nurture their preschoolers - the investment of time and effort by volunteers into the programmes is so important to acknowledge.
It truly does take a village to raise a child 💛

Did you know that the Ministry of Health in Malawi uses drones to deliver pharmaceuticals and pick up lab samples in remote areas?
Amidst the need and lack of resources, there is resilience and innovation and huge potential.
It is our joy at FVM to partner with the Taulo and Nandolo communities to bring food security, health & nutrition, spiritual services, educational support and medical services to enable more and more people to thrive - spirit, soul & body.

Congratulations to Loyce who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Journalism.
FVM is grateful for the opportunity to support students in Malawi as they achieve their dreams. This is an area we would love to develop further in the future. As we listen to the passionate discussion and advocacy for education by our team in Malawi, it is easy to catch the fire and see the importance of investing in this area.
