Lions Clubs International (LCI) is a secular, non-political service organization founded by Melvin Jones in 1917. As of April 2015, it had over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries around the world. The organization became international on 12 March 1920, when the first club in Canada was established. The Smiths Falls Lions Club was formed on March 4th, 1940. T

he stated purposes of Lions Clubs are:

To Organize, charter and supervise service clubs to be known as Lions clubs. To Coordinate the activities and standardize the administration of Lions clubs. To Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. To Promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. To Take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. To Unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding. To Provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members. To Encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

Lions Club Hot Dog Dinner A Resounding Success! 🌭🍟

Thank you to the Mayor Shawn Pankow for helping serve the Dinner today!

​We had an amazing turnout for todays community hot dog dinner, held at the Lions Den in Smiths Falls!

🇨🇦 The atmosphere was buzzing, and we're so grateful to everyone who joined us for good food, good company, and some classic summer vibes.
​What was on the menu? We served up delicious:
​Fresh French Fries: Perfectly golden and crispy, prepared fresh at our fry station!

​Classic Hot Dogs: Cooked to perfection and served on fresh buns. The smell was irresistible!
​Salads: We had a mix of salads available, adding some refreshing greens to the plate.
​Juicy Watermelon: A summer staple! Our platters were piled high with perfectly ripe, sweet watermelon slices, a ideal sweet treat for after dinner.

​We want to say a huge thank you to:
​Our Hardworking Volunteers: From prepping the food to serving with a smile, this dinner wouldn't have been possible without your dedication! We love our community spirit.
​Smiths Falls and the Surrounding Community: Thank you for coming out and supporting the Lions Club! We were so happy to see many familiar and new faces.

A great team effort for a great event.
