The Community Support Program strives to deliver a total approach to Community, Safety & Health. Saskatoon’s Community Support Program includes and engages: The Public, Business Owners and Vulnerable Persons. The Public: The Community Support Program provides a highly visible presence that reassures and responds to the public in the Downtown, Broadway and Riversdale Business Improvement Districts.
The CSP responds to requests for assistance, improves perceptions of safety in the identified Business Improvement Districts, builds trust with all people on the street, provides general information to the public, and discourages negative street activity. Business Owners: The Community Support Program foot patrols liaise with local business to identify issues and collaborate to generate solutions. The CSP initiates and responds to calls from businesses, increase awareness of street activity concerns and links business to appropriate services and agencies. The program also identifies and tracks issues while educating and enforcing municipal bylaws. Vulnerable Persons: The Community Support Program connects community members in need to the appropriate service providers or other supports. Everybody deserves to be safe on the street, and for those who are more vulnerable, it is essential. The CSP responds to requests for assistance and matches needs to services. They interact and build trust with people on the street and maintain strong relationships with service providers. Values

The committee includes the Executive Directors from the Downtown, Riversdale and Broadway Business Improvement Districts, the Saskatoon Anti-Poverty Coalition, Saskatoon Police Service and the City of Saskatoon.
