Another pig barn fire. It’s so sad there was no mention of the pigs and how many died a horrible death in a burning building with no escape. Only the valiant efforts of the fire department. Make pig barn fires a thing of the past, keep pig flesh off your plate! 😢😡

DEVASTATING: 1,500 young pigs were killed in a barn fire in Pansy, Manitoba 💔

Every year, hundreds of thousands of animals die in across Canada. Despite this, barns in most provinces have fewer fire-safety requirements than buildings with "human occupancy", leaving them exempt from mandatory inspections & prevention plans.

In a landmark victory for animal welfare, plans to build the world's first commercial octopus farm in Spain have officially been abandoned.

The project faced years of intense criticism from scientists, animal welfare experts, and conservation organizations. Sustained legal pressure from In Defense of Animals, along with many other global NGOs, helped stop the farm before a single octopus was confined inside its tanks.

In the wild, they are solitary animals that thrive in complex marine environments.
