Calling Youth Cultural Performers!

Join us November 16 for a special one-night cultural performance event!

We’re inviting youth cultural performers and groups to come together for an evening exploring a simple but powerful question:

What do our cultures have in common?

We’re looking for youth performers and groups featuring cultural dance, instrumental music, and other forms of performance.

Performances should share a meaningful cultural story, tradition, or experience.

Participation Details
• November 16
• One-night performance
• Honorarium provided
• Limited spots available
• Performances should meaningfully represent a cultural tradition or story

Is this your first winter in Canada? Are you feeling unsure, unprepared, anxious, or even excited? Join us for an online information session where we will cover everything you need to know as you head into your first Canadian winter!

Event details:
When: Monday, October 5th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Where: Online via Zoom
Cost: Free!
Who can attend: Anyone!

We will be talking about:
What winter looks and feels like in Saskatchewan
How to stay warm outside, in your car, and in your home
How to recognize winter injuries
How to stay safe during a blizzard

All attendees will also be invited to collect winter clothing donated by the Saskatoon community to help you enjoy a fun and safe winter. More details will be provided at the session.

The Saskatchewan Intercultural Association is accepting gently used or new winter clothing to support newcomers in our community as they prepare for the cold months ahead.

Looking for a fun way for your child to spend their PD days and school holidays?

ConnectED Pathways is a free program for newcomer youth ages 6–18 to make new friends, build confidence, and connect with their new community!

Participants can enjoy a variety of fun and engaging activities, including:
Sports
Art
Field trips
Learning about Canadian culture and community

Our program operates on PD days and during school holiday breaks throughout the school year.

YCB FALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

We’re getting ready for our third intake of the Youth Cultural Bridging (YCB) Program and are looking for 10 participants:
🌿 5 Indigenous youth
🌎 5 newcomer youth
🎯 Ages 14–18

YCB is a welcoming space to build leadership skills, explore career goals, learn from Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and connect with other youth. 🤝

🌱 What’s Included?

Participants will explore topics such as:
• Truth and Reconciliation
• Leadership and career planning
• Employment skills
• Indigenous art and culture
• Anti-racism
• Healthy relationships and gender norms
• Identity and resilience
There will also be opportunities to cook, share, create, and learn together with Community Elders and Knowledge Keepers.

SIA is excited to host Sahaja Yoga Meditation. Sahaja Yoga facilitates a state called Thoughtless Awareness (Nirvichara Samadhi)—a peaceful mental state where the mind becomes quiet, calm, and present without losing alertness.

SIA’s E4E program is accepting applications!

This 12-week, part-time program helps you build practical, job-focused English skills while gaining the confidence, tools, and support you need to succeed in the workplace.

Whether you’re new to the workforce, returning after a break, or ready for a fresh start, E4E is here to support your journey!

Through E4E, you’ll learn how to:

✨ Build workplace and job-focused English skills
🗣️ Prepare for interviews with confidence
📄 Create strong resumes and cover letters
🤝 Connect with other newcomers, professionals, and your community

Thank you to everyone who attended the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association’s 9th Annual SamosaFest! It was a wonderful day filled with fun, delicious food, and great memories shared with friends, family, and our community. ❤️
