Community Care members, volunteers and staff celebrated a decade of dedicated service and commitment to the cause of helping seniors live at home last week when they said goodbye to Administrative Co-Ordinator Marjory Villneff.
After ten years of dutifully serving the needs of the organization, Marjory is off to post secondary studies in the fall to pursue her dream.
During her tenure at Community Care, Marjory grew and developed into a caring and meticulous Co-ordinator. In wishing her well, Community Care Executive Director Debbie MacDonald Moynes described Marjory as talented, committed, insightful, organized and always willing to help.
“She understands this organization, she understands the work that we do, and she understands the importance of doing it well,” the Executive Director said. “While we're very happy for Marjory as she leaves to pursue her dream, we're also very sad for ourselves. I know Community Care is going to miss her greatly, and I am going to miss her personally more than I can really say.”
Marjory told attendees that when she walked in the Community Care office on November 25, 2016, she could not have known how much the organization would transform her for the better.
“Throughout my time here, I’ve had the privilege of supporting older adults and helping them access programs and services that allow them to maintain their independence. Working closely with seniors, and their caregivers, and the dedicated volunteers has given me a deeper appreciation for the importance of compassionate, accessible healthcare, that has inspired me to continue growing with within healthcare field,” she said.
“Leaving Community Care is bittersweet but I am excited for the new chapter ahead of me,” she continued. “We did not just provide services over the past decade, but together we built a lifeline for seniors in Prince Edward County, and I am incredibly proud of the impact we made together.”
