Arms of Jesus Children's Mission(AOJ) exists to help develop the spiritual, emotional, educational and physical needs of children in developing and/or poor countries – all in Jesus’ name! The Arms of Jesus Children’s Mission is an Evangelical Christian charity serving vulnerable children through education, sponsorship, and care in Guatemala, Haiti, Kenya, and beyond.

HAITI UPDATE:

THANK YOU for praying for Haiti! We are praising the Lord for some genuinely remarkable news. Following the horrific attack in Kenscoff, 13 of those held captive have now been released by the gangs. Among those released were three children under the age of two, a seven-year-old child, and several teenagers. Today, there are families holding their children again who did not know if they ever would. That is something worth stopping and thanking the Lord for.

But our prayers cannot end here. Many people from this attack remain in captivity, and countless others across Haiti are still being held by gangs. Please continue praying for their protection, for their release, for comfort for those who have lost loved ones, and for peace and healing across this deeply hurting country.

And please continue to pray for our 300 children and staff at our school in Haiti. May the Lord place His hand of protection over them each and every day. Your prayers are valuable! Thanks for praying!

A Prayer request from our director, Brock:

I’ve been in conversation with our director, Wilson, in Haiti.

We have a school there with 300 children, and tonight my heart is heavy for them and for their country.

The last few days have been incredibly difficult in Haiti. In Kenscoff, about two hours from our campus, upwards of 50 people have reportedly been killed in a horrific massacre. Mothers, fathers, and children. Some of the photos I have been sent are horrific - I cannot post them here, but they are heartbreaking. Sometimes it is difficult to even know what to say when you hear things like this.

So, I’m simply asking you to pray!

*Please pray for our 300 children and our staff. Pray that the Lord would place His hand of protection over them.
*Pray for the people who have been kidnapped by gangs and for the families who are waiting and praying for them to come home.
*Pray for those who have lost loved ones.
*Pray for those who are afraid tonight.
*And please, pray for Haiti. This country and its people have endured so much. They desperately need peace. They desperately need healing. And they desperately need hope.

I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that even in the darkest places, God is still there.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Psalm 34:18

Please join me in lifting Haiti before the Lord.

Can you imagine the happiness and peace of mind for this mother to have a safe, healthy house for her and her family to now live in?

"I certainly plan to return!

I was given the opportunity to be part of a mission team recently which I thought would be a neat opportunity. I was nervous though, as I had never been to a third world country on my own. But I chose to believe that it was the Holy Spirit prompting me to get out of my comfort zone -- and am I glad I listened!

The first day at the school was nothing short of amazing. In all my life, I have never experienced pure joy and love the way I did when after our devotion with the elementary students, hundreds of little children come running straight to us and grab you and hug you with such enthusiasm! That it is something I will never forget!

I knew that this is something I wanted to be more involved in and I immediately sponsored two more children. AOJ provides these beautiful children love, support and an education. They build homes for families in the community and provide food to single moms in need. But more than that, they make sure that everyone they minister to knows of Jesus and how much He loves them and their primary goal is for all to come to know Him and have a lasting relationship with their Savior."
