International Day for Care and Support - October 29

Care workers of all kinds provide vital support to many people in our communities. Each year as people age, get ill, become injured, or have children the demand for care workers grows and it’s important to recognize those that offer this support. The International Day for Care and Support is a day to recognize the care workers around us, whether paid professionals like Personal Support Workers and nurses, or those unpaid like family members caring for an ill relative. It’s also a day to review and make sure that people are getting proper care when needed.

📢 Flu Shot Clinic Buckhorn – CANCELLED

We’re sorry to share that the flu shot clinic scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026, has been cancelled.

Unfortunately, the ministry has not delivered the flu shots this week, and all health units in the area are affected.

We apologize, but unfortunately, it’s out of our control. We hope to rebook with a later date ASAP.

The Community Care Peterborough teams are so grateful for all of your support in this year's Kilometers for Care fundraiser! 😁

We danced, laughed, walked, and raised money to support programs that reach thousands of seniors in our area. 🙌

Team Peterborough has reached $1,338 and Team Exercise and Fall Prevention is so close to their $3,500 goal with $3,125 raised at last count.

Do you love working outside? Help us spread the word and prepare for the upcoming snowy season! ❄️

We're currently in need of several Brokered Home Maintenance Helpers in the City of Peterborough to assist clients with snow clearing of driveways and walkways this winter. Our clients pay you directly either on a fee-based per hour or by the job. You manage your own schedule and can provide services on both a one-off or regular basis to clients. A snowblower is an asset, but not a requirement.
