For generations, First Nations children were taken from their families, communities and cultures through the Indian Residential School System rooted in forced assimilation and cultural elimination. As Chief Commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, the Honourable Murray Sinclair helped lead a historic process of truth-telling by listening to the experiences of thousands of Residential School Survivors across the country. In 2015, the Commission released the landmark TRC Final Report and its 94 Calls to Action to redress the legacy of residential schools and advance the process of reconciliation. This National Indigenous History Month, we recognize the Honourable Murray Sinclair’s lifelong commitment to justice, truth, and reconciliation, and reaffirm our shared responsibility to continue advancing the Calls to Action.

A HUGE congratulations to Anna Lambe for winning the Best Lead Performer Award in Comedy for her role as Siaja in North of North at the Canadian Screen Awards 🤩🤩🤩

Not only is she an incredible actress and beautiful Inuk, she’s one of the most genuine and intellectual women you’ll ever meet, too!

We had the honour of having her on the Relentless Indigenous Woman Podcast (Episode 24) last year. As you listen to our convoYou can really feel her authenticity and love for what she does.

Watching her give your speech made me teary. Super proud of you, Anna! 🤍🤍🤍🤍

(what a way to begin National Indigenous Peoples Month! 🥹🪶)

We reply to messages. We answer the phone.
Today someone trying to find out how to help a loved one in jail reached out after repeatedly getting no answer from any Inuit organization in Ottawa. We just spoke to a mother whose son is missing and who didn't receive notice that he'd run away. We've sat with crying parents whose children were apprehended by CAS after hours when they have zero community support because organizations don't have any 24/7 staffing.
We will keep working and we are going to talk more about what we do. We don't want kudos, we want to highlight the ways the system is broken and help people climb out of the cracks they've fallen in to. We are trying to help organizations here, not compete with them. We have NO MONEY/FUNDING but these people have become our friends over the past 3.5 yrs, we can't stop now.
