This National Non-profit Day, we are celebrating the power of independent, mission-driven organizations to create a fairer society. As an independent, registered charity, International Longevity Centre Canada is free to focus entirely on what matters most: protecting the human rights of older Canadians.

Because we operate as a non-profit, our work is driven strictly by evidence, advocacy, and equity, rather than commercial interests. From influencing national policy to defending groups at risk, our sole bottom line is ensuring that everyone can age with safety, dignity, and active support.

Support our mission. Share this post to raise awareness about the critical role non-profits play in protecting our fundamental rights.

Happy International Youth Day!

In Canada, youth contributed over 1 billion volunteer hours in 2023.

Young Canadians are the most likely age group to volunteer in Canada, and that fact deserves genuine recognition. At a moment when national volunteer rates have declined and total hours have fallen by nearly 900 million since 2018, the continued high participation of youth is a foundation the sector can build on.

Find out more in “Young Volunteers, Big Opportunity”— our report featuring insights from the Data-Driven Engagement (DDE) Project on the Canadian Knowledge Hub, funded by Employment and Social Development Canada.
