Hnatyshyn Foundation - Fondation Hnatyshyn The Hnatyshyn Foundation funds and promotes Canadian artists working in all artistic disciplines.

The Hnatyshyn Foundation, a private charity established by the late Right Honourable Ramon John Hnatyshyn, Canada's twenty-fourth Governor General, began awarding grants in 2005. La Fondation Hnatyshyn, organisme de bienfaisance privé mis sur pied par le regretté et très honorable Ramon John Hnatyshyn, vingt-quatrième gouverneur général du Canada, a lancé le premier de ses programmes de bourses en 2005.

Inès Vieux Francoeur is pursuing a degree in acting at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal. Having followed a multidisciplinary artistic path, she hopes to develop a collaborative practice and create transformative, feminist, q***r, and Black theatre that prioritizes experimentation and discovery.

Motivée par sa conviction que le grand opéra ne se contente pas d’être écouté, mais qu’il doit être profondément ressenti, elle s’intéresse tout particulièrement au pouvoir de l’opéra de susciter l’empathie et de créer des expériences émotionnelles partagées.

Gabrielle Blake is a Jamaican immigrant pursuing her love of story-telling, performance and theatre at the University of Victoria. Particularly interested in musical, movement-based, and nonsense-ridden theatre, she uses aspects of her intersectionality and imagination to inform how a character breathes, speaks and moves through space.

Gabrielle Blake est une interprète immigrée jamaïcaine qui cultive sa passion pour la narration, la scène et le théâtre à l’Université de Victoria. Particulièrement attirée par le théâtre musical, le théâtre axé sur le mouvement et le théâtre absurde, elle s’appuie sur les différents aspects de son identité intersectionnelle et sur son imagination pour donner vie à ses personnages et déterminer la façon dont ils respirent, parlent et se déplacent dans l’espace.

📣 We are thrilled to reveal the 19 Canadian performers selected to receive study grants for the 2026-2027 academic year – totalling over $170,000 invested in the future of Canadian performing arts!

The Hnatyshyn Foundation is proud to provide a wide range of study grants each year, ranging from $4,000 to $18,000 each, to exceptional Canadian musicians, dancers, and theatre artists who are enrolled in a postsecondary education or training program.

We look forward to sharing artist profiles in the coming weeks! In the meantime, you’ll find information about this year’s laureates, as well as the jurors who selected them, at rjhf.com 🔗

🎉 Le Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Montréal est fier de souligner l’attribution de deux importantes distinctions de la Hnatyshyn Foundation - Fondation Hnatyshyn à Inès Vieux Francœur et Alexie Haddad-Cliche, toutes deux finissantes au CADM. 👏

✨ Inès Vieux Francœur reçoit le Grand prix de 12 500 $ des Bourses aux artistes en développement, dans la discipline interprétation dramatique – théâtre. Depuis 2005, les Bourses aux artistes en développement de la Fondation Hnatyshyn ont soutenu plus de 150 étudiantes et étudiants du Canada des arts de la scène au talent exceptionnel.

✨ Alexie Haddad-Cliche reçoit pour sa part la Bourse aux finalistes de 4 000 $, remise à une candidate d’exception s’étant classée au deuxième rang dans sa discipline.

Toutes nos félicitations à Inès Vieux F et Alexie Haddad-Cliche pour cette remarquable reconnaissance de leur talent, de leur travail et de leur parcours au Conservatoire ! ❤️
