CRIAW provides a feminist gender based analysis of the federal budget identifying some of what was left out of the Federal GBA:

While yesterday’s announcement is an important first step in making better public policy, it must be matched with funding commitments that advance women’s equality. It is also critically important that diverse women – including women with disabilities, racialized women, and younger and older women –...

Check out CRIAW’s Changing Public Services project`s new fact sheet, “Ten Reasons Why Universality is Important in Public Services”, to find out why targeted approach to childcare and post-secondary education does not offer the evidence-based, rigorous solution that universality stands to.

Public services that are accessible to everyone requires taking a universal approach. Check out CRIAW’s new fact sheet produced in partnership with the Canadian Federation of Students, to find out more: http://www.criaw-icref.ca/en/page/universality

This is a wonderful initiative:

Rise Up! is a digital archive of feminist activism in Canada from the 1970s to the 1990s. We were part of a worldwide wave of liberation and anti-oppression movements that won some victories, changed some attitudes and radically altered the gendered and political landscape.

This site is dedicated to documenting and sharing these histories. We hope it will foster research and inter-generational conversations, and inspire activism that will bring about social change in our current 21st century and beyond.

We recognize this archive is still partial and incomplete and does not represent the full scope of feminist activism across Canada. Our hope too, is that the Rise Up! feminist archive will grow to more fully include the voices of those who have often been marginalized or erased within our movements.

We invite you to join us in building this site.
