🎬 Our 2026 Call for Submissions is open on FilmFreeway!

The North Bay Film Festival is currently seeking Canadian and student short films for our 2026 festival, taking place November 13–15 at the Capitol Centre in downtown North Bay.

📅 Early Bird Deadline: July 1, 2026

Selected filmmakers receive a screening fee and are invited to participate in festival events throughout the weekend.

Calling all Short Film Makers!

The North Bay Film Festival returns November 13–15, 2026 at the historic Capitol Centre in downtown North Bay! Our 2026 Call for Canadian and Student Short Film Submission officially opens next Monday, June 1st. 📅

Got a short film that’s 10 minutes or less, produced in 2025 or 2026? We want to see it! 🎞️✨

Important Dates & Deadlines:
– Submissions open: June 1st, 2026
– Early Bird Deadline: July 1st
– Regular Deadline: August 16th
– Final Deadline: September 7th

🎥 Canadian Shorts:
– Fees: Early Bird – $10 CAD | Regular – $20 CAD | Final – $30 CAD
– Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or grads of Canadian film programs
– Films must be 10 mins or less, produced in 2025 or 2026
– Priority given to films with closed captioning

🎓 Canadian Student Showcase:
– Free to submit at all deadlines
– Open to students currently attending a Canadian secondary or post-secondary institution
– Films must be 10 mins or less, produced in 2025 or 2026

🎟️ All selected filmmakers receive a screening fee and will be invited to Q&As and industry events during the festival!
