A little pause. ✨

WWG will be closed Saturday, October 10, 2026, as we take a moment to step back, breathe, and reflect on the season.

We’re grateful for the artists, collaborators, volunteers, audiences, and community who keep this place moving, challenging, surprising, and very much alive.

White Water Gallery will be closed on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to observe National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We appreciate your support as we take the time to honour and remember both the children who were lost and the survivors of residential schools. Our organization supports Indigenous peoples and recognizes the struggles they continue to face.

A huge thank you to the Ontario Arts Council for increasing funding support for White Water Gallery. ❤️

This kind of investment matters.

For nearly 50 years, WWG has been part of Northern Ontario’s artist-run culture — creating space for experimental work, challenging ideas, emerging and established artists, and the kinds of projects that don’t always fit neatly into conventional cultural institutions.

Increased public funding means more opportunities for artists, better support for the people making the work, and more capacity to keep an independent, experimental art space alive in Northern Ontario.

It means we get to keep being weird.
Keep taking risks.
Keep making trouble.
Keep giving artists a place to do things their own way.

Because artist-run culture isn’t an optional extra. It’s where a lot of the interesting stuff starts.

So thank you, OAC, for investing in artists — and in the wonderfully unruly thing that is artist-run culture.

WWG isn’t going anywhere.

The Ontario Arts Council Exhibition Assistance program supports Ontario-based artists and artist collectives working in visual arts, craft, and media art practices in the presentation of their artwork in a confirmed public exhibition.

This is a third-party recommender program. Using Nova, OAC’s online grant application system, artists can apply to our gallery as a recommender for the program. We assess all applications on an ongoing basis until our yearly funding has been allocated to artists.

WWG is a Zone 5 recommender. To find your zone, see the Map of Exhibition Assistance Zones on the OAC website.
