💙🏒 The Rotary Club of Nipissing was proud to lend a hand at the 5th Annual NoahStrong Day Ball Hockey Tournament this weekend.

What began as a way to honour Noah's memory has grown into an incredible community event that brings families together while raising awareness and support for causes that continue Noah's legacy. Proceeds from NoahStrong initiatives help support organ and tissue donation awareness, patient and family supports, and other projects that make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

As a club, this event holds a special place in our hearts. Noah's story continues to inspire conversations about giving the gift of life and helping others, values that closely align with Rotary's commitment to service above self.

A heartfelt congratulations and thank you to the Dugas family and everyone on the NoahStrong Committee for the countless hours of work that go into making this event possible each year. Your dedication has created something truly special for our community.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to attend the Capitol Centre's Season Launch and get a firsthand look at the exciting performances, events, and experiences planned for the upcoming season.

We were especially proud to see the incredible work being done by our member Katina and her colleagues at the Capitol Centre. Many in our community will also know Katina through her involvement with the Rotary Club of Nipissing, where she generously gives back through volunteerism and community initiatives. It's always wonderful to see local leaders making a difference both professionally and in the community.

The arts play an important role in creating vibrant communities, supporting local jobs, attracting visitors, and bringing people together through shared experiences. Supporting organizations like the Capitol Centre helps ensure arts and culture continue to thrive in North Bay.

🇵🇭 Over the weekend, Colin had the honour of speaking at a Filipino Independence Day celebration after being invited by our Chamber member, Ivy. During the event, he delivered a presentation on stem cell awareness and the life-changing impact of stem cell and bone marrow donation.

Filipino Independence Day, celebrated annually on June 12, commemorates the Philippines' declaration of independence in 1898 and is an opportunity to celebrate Filipino culture, heritage, and the many contributions of Filipino communities around the world.

Events like these are also an important opportunity to raise awareness about stem cell donation. Building a diverse donor registry helps improve the chances of finding life-saving matches for patients in need, and community outreach plays a vital role in that effort.

Thank you to Ivy for the invitation and to everyone who helped make the celebration such a meaningful event.

As we celebrate alongside the Filipino community, our thoughts are also with those affected by the recent earthquake in the Philippines. We send our support to everyone impacted and wish them strength in the days ahead. ❤️
