Amelia Rising provides free, confidential support to individuals 12+ in the Nipissing District who have experienced sexual or gender-based violence.

- Individual 6 & 12 week counselling sessions (virtual or via phone)
- Group Counseling & Workshops (virtual)
- 24 Hour Crisis Line 705-476-3355
- Text and chat support (12pm-12am) via www.webelievesurvivors.ca.
- French Language Services
- Accompaniment to Hospital, Police & Court
Information and Referral (COVID pending)
- Public Education

and Training (virtual)
- Advocacy (assistance in navigating social and justice systems)
- Weekly Rooted Drop-In Group (virtual)
- Diverse and accessible programming

We provide free and confidential support to survivors aged 12 years and over residing in the Nipissing District.

NEW! 💰 Financial Wellness Consultations with BDO 💰

We’re happy to share that our friends at BDO will be in-office on Friday, September 25th offering free 30-minute individual financial wellness consultations. These one-on-one sessions provide a private, judgement-free space to talk budgeting, credit, debt, financial planning, and any other money-related questions.

Please note that availability is limited and must be pre-booked with our office. If interest exceeds availability, individuals will be given priority access to the next available date. As these appointments are free of charge, we kindly ask for 48 hours notice if you are unable to attend so we can offer your spot to someone else who may be waiting.

📢 Save the date - Take Back the Night is coming! ✊

Take Back the Night began in the 1970s as a march against street harassment and violence. Today, it continues as a powerful global movement for safety, justice, and liberation - reminding us that everyone has the right to feel safe in their homes, on their streets, and in their communities.

This year, we’re coming together to reclaim the night and reclaim our right to safety, freedom, and a world free from violence.

If you or someone you’re supporting has experienced sexual or gender-based violence, we’re here to help. Our helpline is staffed by highly trained individuals in partnership with a sister centre in Durham. Support is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day.

When someone discloses their experience of violence to you, it can be overwhelming. You want to help, but might not know how.

Our Support for Supporters program offers brief, supportive intervention sessions and resources for those in a supportive role – whether you're a friend, partner, family member, or someone navigating a disclosure.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.
We’re here to help you support them, while also caring for yourself.
