🌱 Sometimes the smallest conversations make the biggest difference.

Studies suggest that everyday interactions, even brief chats with strangers, can increase happiness, reduce isolation, and help us feel more connected to the world around us.

This Monday, don't underestimate the power of saying hello.

💜 💙 Your mental health benefits from connection, one conversation at a time.

🌙 This Wellness Wednesday, we're talking about sleep hygiene and how healthy sleep habits can support mental wellness. 🛌

Sleep affects how we think, feel, cope with stress, and move through our daily lives. At the same time, we recognize that sleep is not always easy. Many factors, including stress, trauma, work schedules, caregiving responsibilities, and health concerns, can affect our ability to rest. 💤

Where possible, try focusing on one small change that feels manageable. Progress does not have to be perfect to be meaningful.

💚 Be kind to yourself. Rest is a form of self-care.

What Shapes Safer Care?

This week, October 26-30th, we are taking the time to reflect on how we can improve the way our systems treat patients.

We recognize that safer care starts with listening, respect, and support. At Interval House, we are committed to creating safe, client-centered spaces where every person feels heard, valued, and empowered. 💙

Every day in Canada, 27 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour. For eight of them, the diagnosis is brain cancer. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and loved ones whose lives can change in an instant.

Research continues to advance our understanding of brain tumours and open the door to new treatment possibilities. But much more remains to be done. That’s why research, support, education and awareness remain essential to improving the lives of those affected.

Saturday, October 24, 2026, marks the 6th annual Brain Cancer Awareness Day in Canada. Today, we aim to raise awareness of the realities of brain cancer, bring people together around the cause and, above all, remind everyone affected that there is HOPE.

Together, we can raise awareness and work toward a better future for everyone affected by a brain tumour. 💜🎗

💜 Community Support in Action 💜

A heartfelt thank you to Matthew Latchmore and the incredible team at Desjardins Insurance for selecting Lennox & Addington Interval House as your October community recipient.

We are continually inspired by the generosity of local businesses and community members who choose to invest in the well being of our community. Donations like this help us continue providing safety, support, advocacy, and hope to women, youth, and families impacted by gender-based violence across Lennox and Addington County.

This contribution is more than a donation. It is a reflection of what is possible when community partners come together to support one another and create positive change.

A special thank you to the Desjardins team members who helped bring this initiative to life. Your commitment to giving back reminds us that creating safer, stronger communities is truly a collective effort.

From all of us at LAIH, thank you for your generosity, partnership, and belief in the work we do. Together, we are making a difference. 💜
