⚠️ Update from Vault 285 – Still Moving Forward

Hey everyone,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted here. A few people have reached out asking if I’m okay or wondering why I’ve been quieter lately, so I wanted to share a quick update.

Truth is, I’ve been handling a few personal matters and a small health issue that’s been slowing me down a bit, nothing I can’t handle, but enough that I’ve had to step back from social media for a while. I didn’t want anyone thinking the silence meant I’d given up or disappeared. Quite the opposite, actually.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been working harder than ever, continuing the Vault 285 mission, supporting others going through workplace injustice, and keeping my own case on track. I’ve also been working quietly on a few goals I’ve put off for years. It’s been good to rebuild, focus, and finally get some of those “someday” things done. Progress isn’t always public, but it’s steady.

The legal process is long and methodical, but it’s moving in the right direction. My file with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario is active, and McKesson’s response deadline has come and gone.

Even when I’m quiet online, the work doesn’t stop. I’ve been helping others with their forms, writing support statements, and building a baseline for what real advocacy should look like — something built on truth, resilience, and accountability. Watching people gain confidence from what we’ve started means more to me than I can explain.

The silence lately isn’t from defeat. It’s the silence before something stronger. Every email, every document, every message has brought us closer to a turning point.

And for anyone who’s ever stood up against something bigger than themselves, remember this: staying kind, factual, and steady is more powerful than shouting.

Thank you to everyone who’s checked in or offered encouragement. It truly means the world. I promise I’m still here, still fighting, still building, and the Vault doors are always open for anyone who needs guidance, validation, or help getting their footing back.

📢 Vault 285 Update – Fighting for Fairness

Over the past few months, I’ve been challenging a system that quietly punishes people living close to the line. Small purchases — coffee, gas, groceries — can trigger overdraft interest and fees, even when deposits are incoming the same day.

This isn’t about blaming any one bank. In fact, I’ve been treated with respect and fairness by the people I’ve spoken with, and that’s something I deeply appreciate. This is about making sure the system itself works transparently for everyone, especially those of us who don’t have a cushion to fall back on.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Collected evidence showing how posting order and timing affect low-balance clients.

Formally documented my disabilities (GAD, ADD, Tourette’s) and requested accommodation, so I’m not penalized for things beyond my control.

Escalated through official review channels, with a full evidence package prepared if further oversight is needed.

Already secured partial credits, proof that change is possible when you push for accountability.

This fight isn’t about handouts. It’s about fairness, transparency, and dignity. These small charges may look minor on paper, but they add up — and they hit hardest on those who can least afford them.

Vault 285 stands for accountability. One person, with persistence and a paper trail, can make the system fairer not just for themselves, but for everyone.

⚖️ If you’ve ever felt trapped by unexplained fees or confusing account rules, know this: you are not powerless. Document. Escalate. Ask for fairness.

Vault 285 – Advocacy Values 💪

At Vault 285, we believe advocacy should build strength, not dependence. Our role is to guide, equip, and stand beside people as they face unfair systems — never to take control away from them.

🔹 Knowledge First

We share information openly and clearly. Everyone deserves to understand their rights, their options, and the steps available to them without hidden agendas or pressure.

🔹 Empowerment Over Dependency

We provide the tools so people can act for themselves. Success is when someone feels confident enough to take their own steps — knowing they always have support if needed.

🔹 Respectful Support

We never assume someone’s limits. We recognize that asking for help is already a step of courage. We listen first, then respond in ways that meet people where they are.

🔹 Accountability and Safety

When harm is imminent or someone is being mistreated, we step in directly. Silence fuels neglect — speaking up and documenting abuse creates change.

🔹 Community and Solidarity

We’re stronger together. Vault 285 is about building a network where people can share experiences, learn from each other, and fight for fairness collectively.

In Closing,

Vault 285 isn’t here to replace legal or professional services — it’s here to make sure no one ever feels lost, silenced, or powerless when facing them.

Vault 285 – Services and Support 🚨

---Over the past few months, Vault 285 has been steadily growing into something real and impactful. Many of you have reached out in difficult situations, and I want to take a moment to outline the kinds of support that are available here.

This isn’t theory — these are the issues I’ve been assisting with recently, and each one matters.

Support with filing to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Employment Standards Branch.

Advice on documenting employer misconduct and pursuing damages.

Financial and Debt Support- đź’µ

Helping people facing collection harassment understand their rights under Ontario law.

Connecting families with Licensed Insolvency Trustees and reputable debt relief services.

Explaining EI reconsideration and appeal processes for maternity, parental, or medical benefits.

Identifying emergency assistance programs through Ontario Works, housing stability funds, and utility supports.

Housing and Tenancy Issues-🏠

Supporting tenants dealing with unsafe conditions, pest infestations, and landlord neglect.

Guidance on filing to the Landlord and Tenant Board for compensation or repairs.

Helping people understand the repair-and-deduct process safely and legally.

Family and Community Supports-🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Connecting parents to childcare subsidies, Canada Child Benefit adjustments, and local housing help.

Helping with maternity leave planning, EI eligibility, and appeals.

Providing links to legal aid, pro bono clinics, and mental health resources.

Why This Matters- ❤️

The last few months have proven that no situation is too small or too complicated to deserve clarity and fair treatment. If you’ve reached out, trusted me, or shared your story — thank you. You’re the reason this work continues to grow.

Vault 285 is not a replacement for legal counsel, but it is a place to find direction, resources, and real advocacy when the system feels overwhelming.

If you or someone you know is struggling with issues like these, our page hours are posted and reflect when we’re available. For emergencies, messages are monitored as often as possible.

You are not alone in this fight.

⚖️ Vault 285 – Debt Collection and Your Rights in Ontario

Too many people get pushed around by shady collection tactics — endless phone calls, threats of wage garnishment, or “agreements” that were never even explained. These pressure tactics are not only unfair, they’re often illegal under Ontario law.

Here’s what every Ontarian should know:

đźš« What Collectors Cannot Do

Call before 7 a.m. or after 9 p.m., or on statutory holidays.

Contact you more than 3 times in 7 days once they’ve spoken with you.

Keep calling your workplace if you tell them not to.

Use threats, abusive language, or make false claims about court orders.

Demand payments or send contracts without discussing terms.

📜 What They Must Do

Send a written notice within 6 days of first contact that includes:

The name of the creditor

The amount owed

Proof they have authority to collect

Stop all phone calls once you request communication in writing only.

Take you to court and win a judgment before they can garnish wages or place liens on property.

🛡️ How You Can Protect Yourself

1. Put everything in writing. Send an email or letter:
“From this point forward, I require all communication in writing. This call is over. Goodbye.”

2. Document everything. Save dates, times, what was said, and keep all letters.

3. Do not sign anything under pressure. Always request terms in writing.

4. File a complaint if harassment continues:

📞 Where to Get Help

Pro Bono Ontario (free legal advice): 1-855-255-7256

Legal Aid Ontario: https://www.legalaid.on.ca/services/

Credit Canada (nonprofit counselling): https://www.creditcanada.com/

Licensed Insolvency Trustees (federally regulated): https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/bsf-osb.nsf/eng/home

💡 Remember: harassment and intimidation are not “just how collections work.” If they can’t back up their claims with proper proof, it’s their mistake — not your burden. The more sloppy they are, the stronger your position becomes when you document it.

Vault 285 stands with anyone being bullied by bad-faith collectors. You are not alone in this fight.

📢 New Update – Expanding Our Support Network

I’m excited to share that we are currently building a Discord server to support Vault 285’s mission. This will be a permanent community space, but also serve as a temporary communication line for anyone who wants to:

Share discussions on related topics

Get help with form filing and information

Access first-hand or video support from our volunteer team

Our office is equipped to scan, print, and forward documents if needed, so you’ll have real tools at your disposal while connecting with others.

An invite link will be posted in the comments once the server is fully launched.

Thank you again to everyone for the support — this project is moving forward faster than I ever imagined, and it’s because of all of you. Together, we’re building something real.

This is an excellent post from Mentally Mighty Beard Co . Highlighting the importance of awareness around the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) and how it can change lives.

Too often, people struggle without knowing supports like this exist. Sharing stories like his helps shine a light on resources that can ease the burden and open doors.

I encourage anyone who thinks they might qualify to read his experience and check the links he’s provided — awareness is the first step toward support.

These pages provide information about topics and services specifically for persons with disabilities.
