Our 3 senior members are Royal bound!!

Hannah Hayes, Rachel Hayes & Shannon Gibson will be showing in the National Junior Beef Heifer Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on Friday & Saturday.

Shannon will also be showing in the open Limousin show on Saturday, and Rachel will be showing in the open Angus show on Sunday. Be sure to tune in and watch live! (Links will be posted soon)

🍀 2025 Napanee Fair 🍀

Our club had a great time at the Napanee Fair this past weekend! All of the members worked so hard to get their animals ready for show day. Thank you to all of the volunteers & sponsors who made this happen.

Special thank you to our judge, Zoë Hiscock for doing a tremendous job sorting the cattle & giving the kids some great showmanship tips!

Most of us will be heading to Parham Fair on August 16th, come out and support the future of Agriculture!

This past Sunday we had our 4th beef club meeting, hosted at Cailyn Barton’s. Most of the kids brought their 4-H projects and learned to clip their animals, got some showmanship tips and get lots of practice for the Napanee fair!

The Napanee fair will be our clubs achievement day. Support our club and come see us show on Monday August 4th @ 9am in the palace!

🍀 It’s been a very busy spring for the L&A Beef Club kids 🍀

We had our first meeting at Barbra Gibson’s, learning the ins and outs of showing beef cattle. Barb also hosted our second meeting, where we learned about health & safety at a show/in the barn.

Our third meeting was held at LARCH Maple Farms in Yarker, hosted by the Hayes family. First we watched an interview with Billy Elmhirst, learned about his background and very impressive Hereford, Simmental & Angus operation which he runs with his family. Next we were all seperated into groups and all learned about the following:
Structural Correctness,
Volume, Style & Balance
Degree of Muscling & Femininity
Judging Terminology
We ended the day with a BBQ & a swim in the pool!

We are so happy to have 8 new members this year, growing our club to 15! Stay tuned for more posts about our meetings, introducing our members & shows!

Everyone is settled in at The Royal! Travis, Shannon & Rachel all did well in their own Junior breeds shows yesterday. Tune in around 4pm today at royalfair.org to watch them in the National Junior Beef Heifer Showmanship classes!
