Community Awareness: Letโ€™s Talk Anxiety

Today is Action Anxiety Day, a reminder that anxiety is real, common, and something many people silently navigate every day.

Anxiety can affect how we think, feel, sleep, work, physically function, connect with others, and move through daily life. Ongoing anxiety can become overwhelming and difficult to manage alone.

This day encourages us to:
๐Ÿ’™ Learn more about anxiety and mental health
๐Ÿ’š Reduce stigma through open conversations
๐Ÿ’™ Support those who may be struggling
๐Ÿ’š Share compassion, understanding, and helpful resources
Sometimes, simply asking โ€œHow are you really doing?โ€ can make a meaningful difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling with anxiety, remember that support is available and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Community Update: Pride Season/ Week 2026 is here!

From June 8โ€“14, our community celebrates Pride Week and recognizes the diversity, strength, and resilience of 2SLGBTQIA+ children, youth, adults, families, and communities.

This year marks a special milestone for Nanaimo Pride as they celebrate 30 years of Pride and 10 years of the Pride Parade and Festival.

Many people continue to face barriers because of gender, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, or ability.
Some individuals experience multiple intersecting barriers such as poverty, racism, ableism, homophobia, and transphobia.
Pride Week is not only a celebration of identity and community, but also an important reminder of the ongoing work toward equity, inclusion, safety, and access to support for everyone.

We believe everyone deserves compassionate care, support, dignity, and a sense of belonging.
We are committed to creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for all members of our community.

If you are looking for local events, community connections, or support resources, we encourage you to explore:
