What does it take to provide food for over 20,000 people in South Sudan?
In this video, go behind the scenes of a large-scale food distribution supporting thousands of people facing severe food insecurity, including families displaced by the war in Sudan.
See what happens when the trucks arrive, how food is unloaded and organized, how families move through the distribution process, and what each household takes home.
Families receive staple foods including sorghum, beans, iodized salt and cooking oil, helping them meet urgent needs during an incredibly difficult season.
But the goal goes beyond today.
With food available for their families, people have more time to work their fields and grow crops. The hope is that when food assistance comes to an end, their harvests can help carry them forward.
This is what humanitarian response looks like on the ground in South Sudan.
The project is supported by Tearfund Canada, The Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Cirda, Tearfund South Sudan and generous Canadians partnering with communities facing food insecurity and displacement.
