Tomorrow marks the start of International OCD Awareness Week. OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) is a complex and often misunderstood mental health condition

Misunderstanding OCD doesn’t just create awkward moments when someone jokes about being β€œa bit OCD.” It can also delay diagnosis, with many people going years β€” or even decades β€” before realizing they need support.

Learn the facts, reduce stigma, and find support for yourself or someone you know:

🌿 World Mental Health Day | October 10 🌿

You never know what someone is carrying behind a smile.

Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health. We all need time to pause, breathe, reconnect, and ask for support when we need it.

Sometimes, a simple β€œHow are you really doing?” can be the beginning of something that changes a life.

Let’s create communities where no one feels they have to struggle alone.

Reaching out is not weakness. Asking for help is courage. And hope can begin with one conversation. πŸ’™

πŸ‘€ CAN YOU SEE THIS?

πŸ”Ž Can you still read this?

πŸ€“ What about this line?

ᴬⁿᡈ Κ°α΅’Κ· α΅ƒα΅‡α΅’α΅˜α΅— ⁿᡒʷ?

πŸ’™ Imagine if the words you read every day slowly became harder to see.

For millions of people, changes in vision are more than a challenge on an eye chart. They can affect independence, confidence, daily activities, and quality of life.

🌍 October 8 is World Sight Day!

Today, we're looking beyond what meets the eye. πŸ‘οΈ

Our vision connects us to the people we love, the places we explore, and the little moments that make life beautiful. πŸ’™

✨ Here's your reminder to give your eyes the attention they deserve!

πŸ‘οΈ Book regular eye exams, even if your vision seems fine.

πŸ₯• Support your eye health with nutritious foods and healthy habits.

πŸ•ΆοΈ Protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.

πŸ’» Give your eyes a break from screens using the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

πŸ’™ If you're living with a chronic condition such as diabetes, keeping up with recommended eye screenings is especially important.

At the South West Self-Management Program, we believe that taking care of your health means empowering yourself with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to live well.

Because sometimes, the smallest changes in how we see can make the biggest difference in how we live. 🌿

πŸ‘‡ Let's start a conversation!

When was your last eye exam? πŸ‘€

πŸŽ€πŸ’• October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month πŸ’•πŸŽ€

🩷 To the fighters, survivors, caregivers, families, and those we hold in our hearts, we see you, we honour you, and we stand with you. No one should have to face this journey alone. πŸŽ€πŸ’•
This October, we join communities across Canada in raising awareness about breast cancer, encouraging conversations about breast health and screening, and showing our support for everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer. πŸŒΈπŸ’—

Early detection matters. In Ontario, the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) provides breast cancer screening for eligible people, including those ages 40–74 at average risk. People who meet high-risk criteria may be eligible for specialized screening beginning at a younger age.

🌸 This month, take a moment to learn, share trusted information, support someone you love, and encourage conversations about breast health and screening.

Together, we can spread awareness, strengthen support, and remind those affected by breast cancer that they are not alone. πŸ©·πŸŽ€πŸŒΈ
