London and Middlesex Historical Society

London and Middlesex Historical Society We've been exploring the history of London and Middlesex County in Canada since 1901. We promote local history through meetings, tours and publications.

The London and Middlesex Historical Society was established in 1901 by a small group of concerned citizens determined to preserve the local history of London and surrounding Middlesex County by meeting together and publishing. Picture what an early meeting would have been like with Sir John Carling, Dr. Clarence Campbell, Dr. Solon Woolverton, Dr. John Dearness, Miss Harriet Priddis and Judge Will

iam Elliot. All of these people presented informative papers and speeches to the Society. Sometimes the papers were printed in the Society's own publication called Transactions. Today, LMHS is still publishing, offering excellent talks on historic topics, and doing its part to preserve local history.
